Rocksteady teases Suicide Squad game

You can tell that this game had a lot of interference from WB. They looked at Fortnite and told Rocksteady; "Make your game like that! It will get the Zoomer and Gen Alpha crowd!" It is funny how WB thought this game was going to sell well. Sega cancelled Hyenas as they saw that live service as a trend was dead and would just be a money sink. It would have been smarter for WB to cancel the game and write it off as a tax right off. Then again WB executives aren't known for their intelligence.

I did my homework, and the timeline is crazy.

Dini wrote the first AA 2009. One writer, Sefton as sole director. Best story of the games.

Dini returned in 2011 with City, but got interference as an emboldened rocksteady insisted on story input. Still good game.

They didn't have time, with Knight, so they had a separate team handle Origins. No Dini, no Sefton. Geoff Johns, infamously bad at writing Batman, gave input on the story. Johns by this point had become the big influencer at DC around that time.

Knight was Sefton and companies big swan song. Dini was gone and while Johns was able to poke in, Knight is where Sefton and company controlled everything. Knight was released in 2015!

Now this is when things go crazy. Suicide squad was in development hell, with Warners pushing for synergy reading through the lines beginning in the early tens. At the same time, three years after Knight, Rocksteady got metoo'd and alphabetmobbed. Half the female employees apparently wrote this rumor alleging Rocksteady was fully of sexists and anti tranny and fag, then two years later leaked it to the Guardian. This in turn resulted in Rocksteady founder leaving the company two years prior to this things release in 22.

So while there ARE credits from Sefton Hill, he left more than two years before releasing the game. This thing was released after two years of exclusive dev control by a bunch of feminists, fags, and trannies. No wonder it's so broken. And I'm not exactly sure what course correction Rocksteady can give when it's a completely different company from the one that created the game?

We talked about this earlier in the thread, but this was technically in development. WB Montreal wanted to continue the Arkham series by moving in the direction of Beyond. The twist was that it would be Damian taking up the cowl in a Gotham that acts as a bridge between current and Beyond. This idea would have allowed for mainstays like Two Face to interact with someone like Blight. It was genuinely a really cool idea with some fantastic concept art, but WB scrapped it all for live service titles.

Why would you do a gender swap for Freeze? You have Ice themed villains that are women, I think fucking Wonder Woman has one. That seems retarded if you want to expose a wider audience to less popular characters or known characters.

I’m guessing Deadshot’s daughter will be a model switch. So you basically are paying for Deadshot with (barely any) tits with an overpowered Super.

You probably could have made each of the four characters be swapped out if they were thinking. Have one be more mobile, one be able to make cover, one has a better super, or whatever.

Funny you say that because ironic enough, Warner seems more than fine to do just that...with movies.
First they shelved the Batgirl movie (look, as far as we know it was probably going to be woke shit, but I would be lying if I said I wasnt interested in seeing Fraser as Firefly) and now they are apparently doing the same with "Willie Coyote vs ACME" which legit had an interesting premise of him suing ACME products from being pieces of junk that always either malfuctioned or were easily circumvented by a fucking fast bird. Its a premise that felt self aware and deconstructive but surprisingly not in a mean spirited way as Im sure you can make a lot of funny scenes out of there with it kind of playing like a courtroom drama.

And as far as we know, Warner is 100% okay with these two movies being lost media and locked away in some vault for only God knows how long. Dont even get me started on the fact they legit took measures as to make sure some disgruntled employee couldnt give them the middle finger and upload both movies online so at least all that work will at least be seen and appreciated for what it is.

And yet Warner didnt think it was best to pull the brakes on this one? They had it delayed for almost a year I think and we all thought back then they were toning down some of its unpopular aspects. If that is the case, then I can only imagine how nightmarishly worse the OG version of the product was.

I can rant over WB executives being the worst for many reasons, one of which being the sheer mishandling of the DCEU (they had the advantage of no legal ownership fuckery and they still were able to screw it up) but I'd be here all day and I know my posts can get wordy as they are already.

This is the only compilation I could find that has some of her models. Her models look better in Call of Duty and Forspoken, but that's not saying much.

Going from City to Knight always felt off to me. You could tell the writers were changed and Dini wasnt around anymore because it felt oddly inconsistent with the last two/three entries like Bane being just gone, Zsasz being reduced to a cameo and etc.

Geoff Johns should not be allowed anywhere near Batman, the guy loves Green Lantern (which is great) but he was so butthurt by Batman punching out the Guy Gardner Green Lantern decades ago that he made a comic where Gardner punches Batman just to "get even" or whatever. That said, while Origins is easily the worst of the proper Arkham games, it does have some good moments. I really do like the emphasis on Alfred's relationship with Bruce.

To be totally clear, both Sefton Hill AND Jamie Walker (the founders of Rocksteady) were working together and left Rocksteady together. They started a new studio called Hundred Stars Studios. Hopefully it'll make some good things, but I'm afraid it'll go woke.

I'm really glad that this didn't happen. Fuck the very idea of Batman having a son. Go straight to Terry or leave Beyond out of it entirely.

Personally I don't want anyone to be Batman except Bruce Wayne. Not Dick, not Terry, not Damian, not Jim Gordon (yes this was a thing, a very weird thing).

I think this is one of those cases like The Flash where Warner was in far too deep to make anything off a write-off. Remember, this game was in development since 2010. The Flash, similarly, was in development since the early 2010s. If the brakes were ever to be pulled, they would have done so years ago. Zazlav killed off those projects @The handsome tard brought up as they were much less expensive, so a write-off could cover much of it. He was not in a position to take these out when they should have been, so he is likely just riding it out. Also, I am sure there was a limit to how much WB could send to the grave, so gutting the small projects would at least mean they churned some profit/lost not that much whereas the big are more worth the risk of hoping for a miracle to fix your over billion dollar screw up.

On the subject of Norah, Norah/Mrs. Freeze has been done dirty multiple times. But in this instance, I think they're referencing the awful Tomasi/Manke comics with her.

Long story short, DC's woke white dude 'allys' have been trying to undermine Victor and Norah for the last ten years. Scott Snyder tried to force a retcon where Freeze is insane and Norah isn't really his wife, he just made it all up in his head. That fucking failed spectacularly. So they then moved to character assassinating Victor.

He's portrayed as really evil in the modern DCU. More than normally is in his character. His love for his wife is a prison to her blahblah. It's really bad. Anyway, it culminates in Tomasi having Victor curing Norah, but because he did it badly, she's now SUPEREVIL and doesn't care about him at all. Mrs Freeze infects him with a virus and now Victor is stuck in a tank thinks to her so he won't try to keep her from murdering people like an edgy boring bitch killer frost knockoff. She doesn't love him.

Because that's a good take, a stronk powerful woman, because why would people want something wholesome like a man and his wife who just really love each other? What's worse is there are people that LIKE this shit. It's depressing as fuck.

The only good recently woke take I've seen recently was from the Harley and Poison Ivy cartoon where Victor was a pretty decent dude that died saving his wife/freeing her from the suspended animation (and she does love him). The series ends with her becoming an alcoholic party girl after her husband death but at least it show they really loved each other.

Its does warm my heart through that this game is getting absolutely destroyed by the "Fascism is Neat!" game.

I hate what DC does to Victor and Nora Freeze. It is the same with Marvel with Peter Parker and Mary Jane. These writers cannot stand writing characters who are loving, married couples. With gay couples that is another story but these writers just seem to get utter glee in destroying hetero couples or portraying their marriage as loveless. These nanomachines then reconfigured his sperm into Bruce Wayne's sperm, so that the next time he fucked his wife she would become impregnated with Bruce Wayne's child (i.e. Terry). She did all this because "The world always needs a Batman."

Honestly I prefer Damian to be the Batman that Terry gets the suit from, which is the case in the comics. It always irked me that every happy moment Bruce experienced was rendered moot by him ending up as a grumpy, lonely old man that no one likes. That totally fits Damian though, what with his league of shadows upbringing and all.

And to be fair to Unlimited, Beyond had stupid shit in it too. Grayson apparently left Bruce because, under Dini's writing, Bruce would have fucked Barbara and gotten her pregnant. Barbara then would have tried doing the whole Batgirl thing, got punched in the stomach, then had a miscarriage which destroyed their relationship. This would explain why shes getting blacked in Beyond. I think he even snuck it into the comic iirc.

Tl;dr: Beyond has been fucked for a while and Dini had alot of barely disguised fetishes.
