I don't know which one of them was behind Bruce and Barb getting together in the animated series, but I know it was one of them and it puts everything in a different light for me.

I’m not against the idea of bringing Superman and his rogues to Arkhamverse, but it feels completely alien to the tone of the original games, and needed someone passionate about these characters to do the introduction proper, not diversity hire niggerettes that hate how they “don’t see themselves” in video games.
You certainly could bring Superman and the League into Gotham. After all, that's what Batman TAS did with its various DCAU spinoffs. But it takes a good writer and good plotter who are actual fans of the characters. Something you don't get with woke bullshit.

Wtf does this coomer nonsense even mean? The original Harley isn't a whore in a mini skirt either.
Hasn't Harley *always* been one of Paul Dini and Bruce Timms disguised fetishes?

Amanda Waller explicitly calls Captain Boomerang out on Stolen Valor, so that's funny.

I mean, Waller was supposed to be a landwhale and they didn't explain why that changed either. What did she go on a diet or something?
If the second animated movie is still canon, Waller is dying of cancer and has lost weight due to it.

Have you not played Arkham Asylum?

Reminder, this costume was the most popular Halloween and cosplay costume for women when Arkham Asylum came out. So this whole thing about women hating sex appeal that woke activists always talk about is a utter fucking lie.

Harley Quinn in Batman: Arkham Asylum her look was partially inspired by Jeanette Voerman from Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines, Harley's pigtails came from Jeanette.

It means she went from a busty bitch to looking like an undernourished millennial cosplaying her.

She's a take on the gangster moll. Remember BTAS is heavily NOIR with a 30's vibe but not actually retro. The twist Dini came up with for her is she's always fucked up by loving Joker. She's in this abusive relationship and she will NEVER break free.

That's the gag. You feel bad for her to a point, pity her, and ultimately become disgusted and exacerbated.

But yes, as a gangsters moll, Harley is supposed to be insanely hot. Curvy, seductive, and sexualized to an extent because that's her identity as a figure in the story. She wants Joker to get into her and...the really awful part?

He doesn't give a fuck. Joker plays along so she'll do grunt work for him. He, figuratively, fucked her head. Both for the free labor and because she dared to think she could outthink him. Because he's a bastard.

That was Timm. Dini's waifu is Zatanna, he's IRL married to a stage magician. But Dini's a sellout. He embraced the Harley/Ivy shit so he'll buy into anything.

Batman would never want people to make a Batman Museum. In the animated series he was disgusted with gift shops in Gotham selling Batman merch. The man is private and paranoid as all fuck. He would never do this. Even with his identity out in the open he still wouldn't do that. He is the opposite of Iron Man in that regard.
Don't forget the batman musical.

Speaking of, how come nobody got the bright idea of a Batman Beyond Arkham game?

Gameplay wise it was still solid, but they put a huge focus on the batmobile
it was the vast majority of the gameplay and made everything a walk in the park. insta-KO bullets and bosses piss easy with obvious weak points from behind.

the few parts of the game that didn't involve the batmobile were fucking fantastic overall. Having said that they shouldn't have even attempted a jason todd hide. Beyond that it looked amazing, got us all overhyped for the gen. The fear takedown made everything in the game even more piss easy but overall the "healers" the enemy had were a nice touch and the phantom joker was a nice way to bring him back.

but the batmobile stuff was so much of the gameplay its a huge reason why people didn't like the game. it was easily 3/4ths of the game. felt like the non-batmobile stuff was added in later.
and it made some sense considering the limitations of VR games back in the day
VR had a premature launch and it fucked the industry overall. if everyone in tech waited until we got to 2025 techwise before doing VR we'd be in a better place. games for the meta quest 3 are apparently genuinely good. Microsoft barely supports VR. PSVR 2 has been a dude. meta quest 3 is only so heavily invested because Zuckerberg's insane, and apple is a couple years from making it good.
, the budget for this game is 400 million!
i bet its like hollywood "development hell" productions. every stupid idea rocksteady has worked on the last decade is part of that budget.
This makes a lot more sense
its a joke. the "silver age" suicide squad only lasted 6 issues. its like Guardians of the galaxy, the comic only lasted a handful of issues in the 60s/70s but they kept the name and someone used it decades later for a quality product. After the Captain Marvel bullshit its easier to just find older names already under your IP laws than hope no one else on the planet has used the name War Machine for something controversial and you end up tied up in court.
I doubt he knew what the game was going to become in the end. He just knew he was going to get to play a villainous Batman.
VAs do so much bullshit they enjoy any work thats "different". Drawn Together got the a-list of VAs for its era for pretty much scale because they enjoyed being able to voice characters that cursed and fucked and did crazy shit instead of the usual kids shows. Kevin would have enjoyed doing something different than typical Bruce, like he's done for 30+ years all over. This would have been one of many shitty batman projects he's been a part of.
Now with two movies that bombed and a video game that bombed on launch and is basically DOA, WB, in their attempt to make the Suicide Squad the next hit brand, have now wasted almost a billon dollars.
IIRC the first suicide squad made a billion dollars and you're forgetting merch sales and the value of launching harley quinn, the animated show is apparently fantastic. Then there's just getting Margo Robbie to have such a deep relationship with them, pretty sure Barbie is part of the first look deal she signed with them. the billion dollar barbie move could only run because suicide squad walked.

while the game and the movie bombed their relative value is rather high. plus the movie only did so bad because of the pandemic apparently. And Peacemaker is also a consequence of the SS movie. Which is also extremely beloved. Suicide squad is like the pre-battle royale fortnite. its a complete dud but from its ashes came a lot of the only good shit coming out of WB.

That's what I was trying to get at with my Jason Todd Batman idea I dropped up above. Have him give the Arkham Knight suit to Lucius to turn it into a new Batsuit with a bright red Batlogo in the middle.

Batman: Arkham Beyond.

This is exactly correct. By far, Knight's biggest gameplay problem is that it relies way too heavily on the batmobile, and that unless you specifically go into settings, and change it, the car drives like absolute shit, too.

This isn't even to mention the fact that they also changed the detective mode button to the one that summons it, so unless you again specifically change it in the settings, you're most likely just always accidentally calling it when you're trying to be stealthy because of muscle-memory, and shit.

We talked about this earlier in the thread, but this was technically in development. WB Montreal wanted to continue the Arkham series by moving in the direction of Beyond. The twist was that it would be Damian taking up the cowl in a Gotham that acts as a bridge between current and Beyond. This idea would have allowed for mainstays like Two Face to interact with someone like Blight. It was genuinely a really cool idea with some fantastic concept art, but WB scrapped it all for live service titles.
