General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Fresh numberfagging. Compared to the last one I posted two days ago, it's all just gonna keep tumbling down. So far Scarle, with her seemingly "rebelling" with that kurosanji comment like, is the only one making any sort of recovery

Pathetic, behold the Grand Unified Rrat aka the God Rrat (rentry)
Okay, lemme break this down in a way that Dear Feeder and any drive-by threadshitters can understand (people of note to this controversy emphasized in bold):
Vtuber division grows too quickly for its management to keep up, leaving the performers to their own devices for better or for worse. And boy did it get worse.
Now this entire thing is pure conjecture, so please take this narrative with some salt.

Following the success of Hololive's first English branch the previous year, Nijisanji decides to make their own English division. Their first group, Lazulight, debuts in May 2021. Its members are Pomu Rainpuff, Elira Pendora, and Finana Ryugu. The group is a success, and Nijisanji commissions more English "waves" (and many of them too. As of this post, Hololive has five English ensembles, 3 all-female, and 2 all-male, while Nijisanji has nine, 3 all-female ensembles, 3 all-male ensembles, and 3 mixed ensembles).

Problems start to emerge in early 2022. At this point Nijisanji has revealed their second all-male team, Noctyx, but the amount of talents to manage has far outgrown the meager management that started with Lazulight. The original management has either been promoted upwards or would end up leaving the company to found a now-defunct NFT company (Tweet archived btw). Any talents who were bilingual had to pick up the slack, with Elira leading the charge no doubt due to seniority. Unfortunately, this would make NijiEN self-governing to the rest of Nijisanji (as well as parent company Anycolor), and Elira would use her position to hire friends for future waves and further entrenching her position. This even bled into merchandise, as Elira has a disproportionately higher presence in some merchandise/sponsorships despite Pomu having far more success (and poor Finana being treated like an afterthought).

So where does Selen Tatsuki/Dokibird fall into this?
Selen Tatsuki was part of NijiEN's second wave, OBSYDIA, and as NijiEN's mismanagement woes compounded, so would Selen's obstacles. Selen could not speak Japanese, leaving her projects and requests at the mercy of Elira and her cunning linguists, and was second only to Pomu when it came to overall popularity. Despite her audience draw, Selen would be repeatedly left out of sponsorships, and any projects would be caught up in so much red tape she started getting permissions on her terms, further ruffling feathers with the stopgap management. This cumulated in the Last Cup of Coffee music video released in late December 2023, which was inexplicably taken down shortly after being uploaded allegedly due to featuring cameos by former members Nina Kosaka and Mysta Rias. Selen would inexplicably fall into radio silence for the rest of the month.

Fast forward to the new year, and NijiEN's first big news of 2024 is Pomu's "graduation" from the company on January 20. At the start of February, they would announce that Selen Tatsuki would be "terminated": not only would she leave the company but she would have all her streams and videos made private as if she never existed.

In essence, a vtuber graduating is akin to resignation, while vtuber getting terminated is them being fired outright.

In vtubing, there are two ways a talent can leave a company. The first is Graduation, where the talent gets to say their goodbyes to their colleagues and has a farewell stream before cutting ties, and their videos may or may not be kept up for viewing. The second is Termination, often due to breaches in contract, where the talent is immediately dropped, their channel scrubbed of videos, and their presence is persona non grata from that point onwards (though exceptions to this last point exist, as sometimes a talent breaches their contract by a genuine mistake and opts for termination on their terms).

At this point, Dokibird has had enough and claims on her main twitter account that, in the interim between her music video getting removed and her subsequent dismissal, she had been hospitalized for not one but two suicide attempts. She wanted to leave on more amicable terms on December 26, but something convinced Nijisanji that scorched earth tactics were the way to go. At first, it was assumed that Riku Tazumi, CEO of Anycolor and ostensibly the head honcho of Nijisanji in general, had a hand in the abrupt dismissal due to similar tone-deaf statements made roughly a year before, but this was changed on February 13.

On February 13 Selen/Doki, now free from the shackles of permissions, decides to stream Neopets with her loyal fans. Around this time, a video titled "A Message from Nijisanji EN" is posted, which features none other than Elira addressing the issue, referring to a legal document that Doki and her lawyers had sent to Nijisanji's legal department. According to Doki, that document was not to be made public nor shown to the other talents. I know we joke about lolcows doing this "don't post this on your [sure]" act, but given Doki's situation, I am assuming she crossed her T's and dotted her I's with her lawyers' help. Making matters worse, another video on the same channel was posted a few hours later, titled "Addressing Your Concerns" featuring Tazumi himself where he addresses the situation.

In doing so, this put NijiEN on full blast. Whether you believe Doki was a genuine victim of nepotism-related bullying, or was such a bundle of mental issues even on a good day is irrelevant. Doki's legal document was proof of Elira's management team biting off far more than they could chew and all its troubles being shown for the world to see. Tazumi had no idea what Elira and company were up to.

EDIT:
I believe that the order is reversed on this. The "A Message from Nijisanj EN" was timed to begin right when Doki's stream began. Riku's "Addressing Your Concerns" followed a few hours later. The implications for them timing the "A Message from Nijisanj EN", right when Doki's stream began were rather unsettling.

Noted. Fixed the timeline now.

Niji as a company won't go down, but NijiEN will burn to the ground, because their reputation has now being ruined. I have a feeling NijiJP will throw EN to the wolves and let them deal with their own bullshit. When Selen starts filing lawsuits, we'll see how quickly JP divorces itself from EN.
Yeah, this is where I stand.

Niji JP will be unfazed but the EN branch won't recover from this.
Tooo many people from the talent's personal lives are coming for them and people are dropping them.

The only shills are the Nijisisters which says alot

I'm not certain how much I believe the idea that Niji EN is some rogue breakaway independent nation - we saw what happened to Chinami, so Japan isn't free of the nonsense, and they just lost Chihiro, who INSTANTLY came back under her own flag. Add to that what Sayu said about management, and it makes me think the EN management is Japanese people who can just about speak enough English to manage, rather than hiring Canadians, Americans, French people, etc.

Which I can agree with, anything to avoid hiring a French person.
So, to play off this.
I do very much believe its a bunch of Japanese people who barely speak English fluently.
Which makes you wonder, who is helming the ship in Canada?

Surely some talent. Which leads me to think the Clique may be the main source of communication with NijiJP which would explain A LOT.
The panic, the stupidity, the bad decisions. Not gonna let Nijiniggers get away with the blame they decided to let their talent take control over shit going down in the Americas.

But that would explain why thing seems so superbly incompetent. Those people were Wrymtonguing the ear of the management with what was going on.

TLDR, Elira is management for NijiEN since the original management for EN fucked off. The current shitstorm is a cumulation of her terrible management and favoritism for her clique
Well son of a bitch this is what I was starting to just propose up top. Looks like the rrats are thinking in alignment with me. I don't post for a full day and I miss the chance to beat the rrats to the working theory. Woe is me forever late.

I'm still confused as fuck by Ike.
Weak man in hard times. Scared to be on his own, and just going along with the clique that kept him where he was. In other words, a spineless coward.

Not sure how I feel about Doki's "don't send hate to anyone involved" statement. I get that she wants to be clean from all this, but evil people deserve to be exposed for what they are.
They belong strung up on walls. A little over the top I'll admit but yeah you don't shield evil. She had to say it because it sounds good. End of the day nobody gonna listen we all know that. People are beyond pissed.

The time has come. Tenma thirst's over her viewer's with Lumi as her tard wrangler.
Sakana was right about her. She's the ideal idol if she keeps her mouth shut. She has a real eye for content.
She's going to get a bunch of young men working out to be muscular for vtuber women now which is at least a boon for their health and confidence so I'm all for that.

Yeah, for them to just shut the fuck up, clean house over at NijiEN to remove the cunts who instigated all this and install actual management, and finally focus on growing their company and stop messing with a indie talent.
They're going to do what any doctor in the 1800s does when they see a limb with gangrene on it.
Cut it the fuck off and hope it doesn't spread further.
At the end of the day NijiNigger is a sweatshop talent agency never forget that. It wasn't the clique taking 98% it was them.

At this point I'm starting to believe the grand unifying rrat. And if it's true, it makes me wonder. How much did/does Riku Tazumi even actually know about what's going on? I imagine he would really only know what's being reported to him. What if NijiEN's management isn't being truthful with him?
Just makes too much sense. Niji is too cheap to pay for an overseas manager they had a talent that was bilingual have them handle stuff. Got lazy and cocky trusting them. She brought in her drones... and with a little bit of time here we are.

Now if the Kyo and Pomu stuff fits in can't say. But the Elira stuff 100% fits.

There's no way this was written by a talent referring to Nina and Mysta as 'ex-Livers'. I guess some autist could try to dig up their discord usernames and try to check if they fit this bit

But IMO it's obviously a corporate manager,

I don't quite buy it. Certainly, it is possible for factions to form in any group that are ambitious/self-serving; however, I think too many people are treating Elira as the cliche 4d chessmaster over everyone. I highly doubt it's as simple as this.
I'll be honest, I wrote my summary initially with a pro-Selen angle, but in retrospect I should have been more neutral.

For all we know Elira was doing a decent job and Selen was nothing but trouble, but that does not excuse showing off that document in public.

I dunno, she doesn't need to be a 4d chessmaster if the rest of the players are playing 1d checkers. Sometimes companies are just run by dumb people.

All you people who think the rrat makes Elira out to be a smart, 4d master whatever I recommend you to read the actual godrrat instead of the summary:
Elira could be a stone cold bitch queen, but she could also be simply incompetent and casually nepotistic, or even a genuinely hard working leader who thinks she's doing the right thing for her branch, and it doesn't change the rrat. Selen could be a total menhera or completely innocent, and the rrat works all the same.

You fuckers who only read the summary ruin everything. It's not even that long, jesus christ.

I don't really get the angle that Elira needs to be some 19d chessmaster to "control" the entire branch, if management really relied on bilingual talents to talk with JP management regarding corpo matters, it's really easy to control information and make deals from the top down. It's as easy as leaving out stuff that JP management said to relay to the EN talents, like upcoming brand deals, who wants to be on promotion posters etc. The godrrat also mentions how bad EN management was at Zaion's time. If the managers they had/have really can't speak English, it's easy as that.
Since NijiEN management can't seem to shut the fuck up (or if there's a lawsuit), there will still be new info coming and we'll see how the godrrat holds up. I'm erring on the side of believing from what we've seen in the past, like Selen's events being constantly kneecapped or Zaion's document, but since it's a rrat, there are a lot of "ifs". Hope graduated talents speak out eventually, but I assume they don't want to make life for their older colleagues more miserable than it already is.

This is Slack, not Discord, which begs the question why two separate programs are used for official matters (or maybe I'm retarded and just assuming they'd use Discord). That being said, I don't know why both Zaion and Selen use their full talent names and why Millie would use only Millie as her Slack name (from the 3rd image and the cropping image in the GURRAT): 1708010472976.png

I can buy the rrat queens using a non-named Manager account together, though. Millie doesn't exactly fit with the badly cropped Slack image, the tops of the letters are too far to the right for it to fit.

Elira isn't that smart, guys. I don't know why you're giving her way more credit than she deserves for killing NijiEN. This kind of shit has shades of that VShitshow fiasco after the two main instigators left and VShojo slowly started to get a little better right after. I highly doubt that's what'll happen to NijiEN, but it is what it is. Elira is merely an incompetent nepotist that required people's noses to be glued to her asshole. It's a tale as old as time.

I believe in Occam's Moron, sometimes the simplest and stupidest solution is correct.

You mean the Nux thing or dropping Vei, Nyanners and Silver in one fell swoop?
