It sounds to me like he doesn't have as close a relationship with Rumble as he wants people to believe.

As I understand it, the way YouTube works is that the unwashed masses have to tag Team YouTube on Twitter, whereas the people YouTube likes have a handler/contact of some sort.

I dunno if Rumble works the same way, but you'd think if he were in tight with Rumble still, he'd have an e-mail, a phone number, or some more direct line of communication that doesn't involve having to tag them on Twitter.

Three scheduled streams a week Nick, that’s all you had to do but you fucked it all up.

People here who work 40,50,60 hours a week, live paycheck to paycheck, who break their bodies down putting food on the table for their families are dead tired of hearing how exhausting his streaming schedule is between vacations.

This is honestly one of the biggest things that soured me. Nick was presenting as a bit of an everyman--not a celebrity or equally opposite a chav--, just a person with 'greatness thrust upon them', as it were. For a while he managed to fake humility and a grounding influence with family and morals to resist the corruption, but he was a secret narcissist.

I stopped watching Nick for the same reason I stopped following celebrities: they just are not real.

Legal Mindset has no reason to turn on Rekieta. Ralph had a good reason, way better than the small reason that people said, but it was still a mistake because Nick is a good guy.

Who's right when it comes to Carano's chances in court? I dunno, but I don't think it's coincidental that everybody in Dick's camp (save for maybe EVS) has taken an anti-Carano position here. I will never not believe JuJu is puppeting a great deal of all of this.

Everyone seems to think this is a free-speech or defamation issue, but it isn't, it's a labor dispute, wrongful termination and discrimination. The buzz I've heard from the alt-Nerd sphere (including from people Rekieta used to associated with) is that Carano has a decent chance to get a solid result if she doesn't settle because

- Disney has been anticipating this and would likely dread discovery, as it's expected that they would have to release internal communications that would be highly embarrassing - apparently, they have been trying to talk Carano down for some time, and Carano herself wants a jury trial, indicating that whatever she can't win in court, she would win with exposure,
- The grounds for discrimination are evident in the public double-standard displayed towards her co-stars and how Disney is more lenient in policing their social media use,
- Even though her contract on The Mandalorian had expired, Disney's public statement on the matter which described her as "denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities", and the private scoldings she got (which allegedly included long lectures on BLM and trans rights) arguably ropes them in on wrongful termination,
- There's also the matter that The Mandalorian director Jon Favreau, who had reportedly attempted to protect Carano from being fired, had promised that she would be getting more work in future Star Wars productions (including the ludicrously titled Mandalorian and Grogu film), which point to a) that her contract non-renewal wasn't planned and b) she had suffered financial losses as a result.
- She has every motivation to clear her name professionally, especially from the accusation of being anti-Semitic, and secure a retraction from Disney.

There's also the question of Elon's involvement. Beyond basically giving Carano as much money as she needs,

- He has a personal grudge against Bob Iger and likely wants to embarrass him - this lawsuit was announced around the time of Disney's first 2024 earnings call and also amidst an ongoing investor fight to remove Iger as Disney CEO,
- He wants to set a precedent, as he promised, that would make it harder for employers and corporations to retaliate for what their employees say on his platform, X (Twitter),
- Rumors (which he obviously started) that he's positioning himself to buy Disney or at least control a sizeable share.

There are obviously some problems with these points, as well as strong factors in Disney's defense here which I won't go into, but essentially you have two people with hefty resources who are not inclined to settle vs. an already embattled corporation that really doesn't need this right now. Optimistically, it's a toss up.


And I kind of agree with Ralph, it was a bit unfair to evaluate Rekieta as he's flailing around and making mouth noises. Yes it was 4AM, yes it was Locals, yes he hadn't read the complaint, but he was, crucially, drunk as fuck.
