Feedback Technical Grievances

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Also in some threads there are random posts which I can't quote. Is this normal?
Highlight the part you want to quote, click the quote or reply button that pops up.

It's to prevent users from quoting a 6 page long post and replying "THIS!"

Is there a way to search for keywords but only in a specific thread, not sitewide? For example, I want to search for "tor" and "onion" in the technical grievances thread only, to make sure I am not posting a known technical grievance.

Anyways, I exclusively use the tor onion for this website, sometimes with javascript and sometimes without. The site works fine for 10-20 minutes or so, but then if I try to click on a new page or something, I get the following error.

The connection has timed out

An error occurred during a connection to kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojhmqruw2nit3uejrpiagrxeuxiyxcyd.onion.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Tor Browser is permitted to access the web.

When this happens, asking for a new tor circuit for the site does not seem effective. The only consistent antidote is to exit out of the tor browser, start it again, connect to a circuit, go back to the onion, do the non-javascript argon2 challenge in windows subsystem for linux (or the javascript kiwiflare thing), log in again, and wait for it to happen again in 10 minutes or so.

I was able to somehow upload a file to the marcan thread over tor (very slowly) (see https://kiwifarmsaaf4t2h7gc3dfc5ojh...s-asahi-lina-asahi-linux.169453/post-17766716) despite getting this error in other tor tabs through which I was browsing kiwifarms. When the upload finished and I pressed to post, I got the error as well. But I restarted the tor browser, and luckily, my upload was still there in the draft, ready to be posted.

By the way, on a somewhat different topic, if I want to register an account on kiwifarms, it forces me to do some sort of captcha, which requires javascript. Javascript is a powerful fingerprinting method. Is there any way to do an alternative that does not require javascript?

I have a weird situation. I got a notification about a thread I never interacted with in any way or form. I have not watched it, I have not posted in it.

I don't know what causes the connection interrupts with Tor. It's been like that for a long time. The only fix is rebooting tor.

Farms broken for me at the moment, both clearnet and onion. 1708547513389.png

Tor will switch to a new circuit every ten minutes and use that for any new TCP requests you make and for some reason a bunch of circuits can't access the farms.

AT&T, Verizon, and TMobile have widespread outages this morning. Maybe that's part of the issue. Reddit thinks it's solar flares and not Hillary's space laser. KF on ClearNet's just humming along fine for me, the Sun showing respect for the Moon, I guess.

Cloudflare is also shitting itself on other sites so I assume it's just maintenance for normie tech bullshit.

What could be done to diagnose and/or fix the issue? Are there debug logs for tor that could tell me what is happening when it fails?

Do you recommend continuing to use the .onion, or should the clearnet url be used over tor instead?

When the network went down earlier it seems to have broken clearnet video uploads. Images upload fine videos just fail regardless of size.

Is there any reason or any limit to how much I can edit my posts?

I notice that I can edit some of my posts but can't edit others.
