Or it's possibly something like the Thing and comes with multiple genitals and pronouns.

If the teasers are anything to go by.
Oh yeah, I'm not even guessing, just pissed off at the butthurt after when the Twins came out and the teaser had a lot of speculating it was an Until Dawn chapter which is never going to happen because Sony owns the rights to Until Dawn and that's why The Quarry was werewolves instead of a wendigo. But now it's cultural appropriation everything even though Until Dawn was by far the only game with wendigos.

Behavior even came out and said it has nothing to do with indigenous culture and people are like "It's still a wendigo and that's what I'm calling it."

Besides there's already like 3 cannibals in the game, no need for more really.

Just fuck right off. if it offends you that much just uninstall the game. Or I dunno, wait until Tuesday to complain? (General assholes on Twitter you, not You, since I'm responding to your comment)

Canadians spazzing out over people calling a Wendigo a Wendigo isn't a new thing; in my old online friendgroup (roleplay focused) we had a Canadian absolutely go off on one of the ESL friends for wanting to play a wendigo-adjacent character and daring to name it in the pitch. Crazy tbh, apparently they're all taught as kids that naming a Wendigo a Wendigo attracts them to you.
The official twitter replied to some weirdo and said that there's nothing in there that could be construed as offensive to Canadians so my first guess isn't a Wendigo anyway. (Rip my dreams of a Supernatural crossover).

Maybe it's a kind of Geist or Zombie-esque killer. Crossing my fingers in hopes it's the kind of disguise killer that the Legion's teaser implied them to be.

Genuinely don’t know why people think the new killer (which we haven’t seen fully) is terrifying lol

It's because it's a slightly atmospheric teaser w/ a predictable jumpscare, it tickles the milennial analogue horror brainworm.

New killer and survivor seem to have okay abilities, well at least nothing that seems like it's gonna ruin the game. Worst part of the update seems to be all the coomposting we'll see around the new survivor. It's gonna be AIDS.
The new invocation mechanic and the new perk is bullshit. Instant 15% gen progress to all 7 gens after sitting in the new basement fag circle for 120s base; reduced if more survivors join in. The perma-broken on 1 survivor doesn't matter in a meta already geared for gen-rushing.

That and also nu-self-care that only works in the basement. They really want killers to waste a slot for territorial imperative.

Also, lmao they nerfed Pig again and uber buffed Huntress to the fucking moon. These Devs are retarded.

Edit: Tbf, I reckon invocation will be unpopular in low-mmr and solo-q because noobs would give away that the perk is in play. But 4-man SWF comps will take advantage of the perk at its best.

The vibes on Mr. Crunchy are on point tbh. I am fucking sick of "person with a weapon" killers.
The design is right up there with Dredge.
Unfortunately the killer power leaves much to be desired and lol at her crawling being limited to Moris.

Atleast she isn't shooting her projectiles from her hands but squirts it instead. (Finally a squirter killer)

(Wtf is this random fireaxe even)

Agreed, really like his look. I expected such a monstrous creature to use claws or something, but I actually really like that it has an axe. The way it wields it makes the creature look far more uncanny. Really good design.

Are we ever going to get a mimic power based killer? He has a great design but Im not so sure the grenade launcher and the hallucinations will be very powerfull so I still have to play too see.

Hehe, he's kinda cute. They could have done without awkwardly holding the axe tho.

Legion's chapter was titled Darkness Among Us and was dropped at peak Among Us popularity. I think everyone expected him to be a disguise-based killer. Instead we got a guy with a knife and chronic fatigue syndrome. Thanks BHVR!

like the design of the new killer and map. Your thoughts?
I love the movie theater/arcade combo building, it seems a little small and packing a lot into a tight space but it has a really cool vibe from videos, also impressed that they're utilizing a ramp that looks like a vault but isn't, more interesting geometry. The park statue is also cool but the forest just seems unrealistic next to the urban building. Also not a fan of the random arcade cabinet and pinball machine out in the forest, powered for some reason & there's way too many fucking pallets outside. Reserving judgement until I actually play it live.

Both killer and survivor seem like they'll have excellent potential for future skins, I'm actually mad they haven't been out for 2+ years and don't have a library of them already. The base killer skin with the ax seems pretty lazy, but I like the sound design, very skinwalker-esque. Less horror movie, more Paranormal Caught On Camera tv footage sent in.

I had assumed that and the building being in the middle of the forest was due to the Entity's influence. The borders of the map aren't the standard brick walls, after all. The entire map is floating in a void and there's debris floating all around the edges, mostly arcade cabinets. I look at it as the Entity having created the map with such violent force that it ended up scattering shit everywhere. Perhaps that's a lazy way to explain away strange design choices, but I don't really care.

It's definitely one of the best original maps they've ever added. I'm unsure on the balance; I'm leaning towards survivor-biased as usual. However, compared to some of their other original maps it's an absolute masterpiece with gorgeous lighting and a lot of fun easter eggs (did you know that the movie posters are randomly chosen and that the pallet in the arcade causes the pinball machines to fire off the tilt alarm when dropped?) I only wish they had done one or two more in the same style, maybe expanding the town. Each map could include more buildings and landmarks of the town.

The killer is certainly the highlight. I've heard rumours that he'll release with a few skins that change its sex, like a female variant, to complement its role in the lore as a sort of skinwalker alien creature. I've seen some suggestions that he could have cosmetics similar to Leatherface's old survivor masks, where killing a certain number of a certain survivor would unlock a cosmetic resembling them, perhaps even with some voice lines. I really like this idea. They could even do it without "muh blackface" concerns since they could just leave the creature itself intact and change the hair and clothing. It's been a while since they released an original killer design this good, and I can't wait to see what they do with him. The music is fantastic too. It really fits the found footage vibe well. It makes me think of V/H/S, strangely enough.

I usually don't suck BHVR's dick so hard but I genuinely believe this chapter is one of their better releases, especially after the nothing that was Alan Wake and the disaster that was Skull Merchant.

I agree that the killer design is cool. I also like that from my understanding of the background lore (current, dunno if they ever really change them much) it was all sort of accidental. The girl in the story is researching the creature but also stumbled on information about the Entity since it's the same town Mikaela (who the new alt girl goth gf coomerbait survivor is a friend of) and she got abducted by the fog. So I guess looking into both invited them to pursue Olivia and the Entity snatched it up since they both were coming after Olivia and maybe the monster was a better prize. The Unknown is also some sort of information hazard that is based on various ideas to explain disappearances (government mutant weapon, cryptid, serial killer) so it reflects this with the ax, strange shape, and weird hallucigen grenades. Initially I didn't like the design too much but after seeing the lore and the idea it can look like anything will make the skin department cool.

I've always enjoyed the lore but the actual gameplay part of the killer seems like a rehash of ideas and I saw a video recommended basically echoing this. It has an "infection" mechanic and a teleport tacked on for no real reason. So it's like a ranged Nemesis and a hag that can't as cleanly decide where to put its traps (I think if you hold the grenade out it stops the timer). The perks are fine though I like the idea of a speed boost on vaulting as well as a somewhat more reliable Trail of Torment undetectable from kicking a gen.
