We're supposed to be okay with a cartoon that bases its plot around concepts found in religion BUT we're supposed to tiptoe respectfully around Voodoo? Fuck all the way off with that shit.

Also I now have a song in my head.
League Of Gentlemen - Voodoo Lady

I wonder if folks bring up those weird crossover fanfic/fanart with Loud House characters to the creators like they bring up that Hide Away video
reason why Hide Away became such a meme is because of the high profile of both the commission ($50K) and the person commissioning it (Verbalase). These are just autistic crossovers made by a nobody on the Internet.

a little tangent in the voodoo/vodou controversy in HH:

I don't know your opinion, but my is that this is a problem that is partially perpetuated by practitioners by simply highlighting the misconceptions or "white fears" about voodou.

Thanks to Hollywood, only the negative versions of the practices are portrayed and mostly known by the lay public.

But where are the positive portrayals of religion? Vodou is a closed religion to protect the practices of colonization aka they do not want their beliefs to be seen with the same mass appeal and marketability as Greek, Norse or Bondye forbid as horoscope is today.

which basically guarantees that only misconceptions are perpetuated in the media, with good practices sealed in educational documentaries or articles on the internet with the message "this is not for you"

Why not make cartoons, series, games or films portraying positive Vodou practices? because they don't want white people to dominate their practices or "cultural appropriation" shit.

People are interested in religious practices and symbols because it seems cool, but if the only source they have is positive and they are always labeled racist for consuming it, it really doesn't give them the incentive to respect it, just be afraid.

TL;DR: I would like to have a Vodou style Juniper Lee
voodoo is scientology for black people. it was always a grift

It's the "punching up" mindset from progressives since they see Christianity as "white" religion despite it being the major religion in Central and South American countries.

The exact reason why Malcolm X Became a Muslim. He thought it was the true black religion. Only to drop it when he went to Mecca and there where no blacks there.

He didn't quit Islam, he quit the Nation of Islam, a black supremacist UFO cult that is not even really Islam. That's why they had him killed.

A bit more insider info from my professor:

I've mentioned it before that streaming services were interested in taking on Helluva Boss, but I got a confirmation that Netflix wants Helluva Boss. Though Amazon wants it as well. I'm guessing that once season 2 wraps up, the rest of Helluva Boss will end up on one of them.

If Netflix passed on Hazbin, I doubt they'd take the dumpster fire of a series that is Hell-oo-va. Plus didn't Viv pledge she wouldn't work with netflix because of how they treat their animation portion?

They must have changed their mind since apparently Hazbin Hotel is doing quite well on Amazon Prime. Whether or not Viv accepts their offer is a different story.

I feel like if this is true, I think Amazon is more likely. Only because Viv could shamelessly have both shows cross over each other.
