It's because the PMs don't offer prying eyes outside of who's invited. If it gets leaked it comes from inside the house, aside from whoever can just passively look at it in public. It offers less risk but isn't as safe as people tend to think it is. I'd still take the kiwi farms message system over discord any day though. Yeah it's retarded but it's the closest rationality to that mentality I can grasp.
