Dramacow "Daddy" Derek Savage - Creator of Cool Cat Saves the Kids

With how much Daddy Derek rechops footage into supposedly new projects, I'm surprised he's never rereleased "Cool Cat finds a gun!" as "Cool Cat Stops a School Shooting"

Butch the Bully was going to take the gun to school, but Cool Cat told Daddy Derek who called the police and they took the gun from Butch before he got on school property. That's actually a realistic way for Cool Cat to Stop a School Shooting! Don't be a hero, tell an adult and have them tell the police!

It's actually a better message than Cool Cat fighting an active shooting with Kung Fu like Daddy Derek wants to do!

I'm just sad we never saw the only true hero from a Cool Cat movie again: Butch the Bully. He's probably an adult now.

If he existed he would be a Kiwi Farmer.

One of my favorite bits of Cool Cat lore is Daddy Derek (in a now deleted video) saying he was in talks with the Butch the Bully's agent to have him reprise his role in Cool Cat stops a School Shooting, but when Butch was interviewed he'd never heard of it.

It seems his agent thought Daddy Derek's offer so unimportant, he didn't even tell him about it, even thought it's his only recognizable role!

Well, He was born on December 8, 2002 which means he would be 21 years old. So yeah, He's definitely an adult now.

He actually really should have let him know, though. Greg Sestero (of "o hai Mark" fame) actually made a pretty profitable book out of being in The Room, which was then itself made into a movie.

Daddy Derek says a lot of things like saying he's getting PewDiePie in one of his movies and it never happens. He promises a movie, sets up a Gofundme for it and never delivers.

Derek Savage has been at this for how long now and he still hasn't been successful with any of his projects? It's literally time to pack it all in.

The difference is Greg has a certain amount of humility about all this and knows that some of the projects he's done aren't that great like "The Room". Or when he played the younger version of Toulon in "Retro Puppet Master" which is like the 7th in the Puppet Master series. It's pretty bad even for a Charles Band movie but he does a good job in the process.

Daddy Derek would point out all the time that he played and extra in some movie and how great it was and how he got to meet and make friends with the stars blah blah blah.

Greg looks like a pretty chill guy. He even did an interview with Doug Walker of all people. The same can't be said about Daddy Derek. The man even looks like a douche.

Greg has been the heart and soul of Tommy Wiseau's life, even if they both had ups and downs from each other during production of The Room, and to this day they're still friends

So in other words, Daddy Derek's own creation Cool Cat is a manchild in the same way as real-life manchildren such as Chris Chan, Lewis Lovhaug, Daniel Larson, etc., right?

It sure seems that way. After all Cool Cat is to Derek as Sonichu is to Chris.

Except Chris's own Sonichu creation is a donut steel OC that plagiarizes both Pikachu and Sonic, while the creation of Cool Cat is somewhat original but let alone also unoriginal at the same time. But yes, both Derek and Chris are lolcows and so too are their respective OCs.

I haven't checked this thread in a while, but I noticed a few users here are interested in Derek's book Hell's Nightmare. It was listed back in 2018 on Barnes and Noble's site and the copy I obtained from there might have been cheaper than what the few listings currently available are asking for it. I've been wanting to share it on Kiwifarms for a long time but I never got around to it until now.

The version I own is an advance review copy from 2000 provided by Savage Books and distributed through Ingram Book Company and Amazon. It also comes with a nifty bookmark:

20240307_211439.jpg20240307_211410(1).jpg

Hell's Nightmare is largely the same as The Second Coming/Final Conflict/The Devil President's current plot outline on Derek's site, only the protagonist Jonathon (as mentioned in the description) is named Charlie Sutton in the book. To make things extra confusing in terms of names, the first preview chapter for Hell's Nightmare on Derek's website is rewritten, and its protagonist is named Brandon Summers. Lisa's name remains the same in both the 2000 advance review copy and the first chapter online.

The bookmark mentions Left Behind, and Hell's Nightmare is very similar to it in terms of the plot but it also changes between different characters throughout the book such as John the Disciple overseeing the Rapture with God, Jesus, and the angels in Heaven circa 95 AD, Charlie's ongoing struggles to survive the end times without his girlfriend Lisa until he and his friends get executed by the President's guards for refusing the mandatory Universal Government mark, and other side characters such as those residing in Africa and China get a few chapters centered on them.

If anyone has read Derek's other stories including his recent Bible Birdie chapter book, Hell's Nightmare's writing is largely the same and gets quite amateurish at times. I can see why Derek wanted to include a lot of different characters and their perspectives on the plot's events, but it can get very confusing to keep up with. The protagonist also gives off vibes of being a self-insert of Derek Savage, including a bit in the second chapter that briefly describes Charlie's past as a male stripper and name-drops his other book "The Dancer". Overall, I'd still say that Hell's Nightmare is a more entertaining read than Bible Birdie but don't expect it to be the greatest book of all time or anything more than Derek Savage's take on the Left Behind franchise.

I'm still fixing some errors with the PDF, so in the meantime, I can share these excerpts from Hell's Nightmare to give everybody a taste of what this long-lost book of Derek's has to offer. I apologize in advance if the page scans aren't of the best quality, but I tried to make do with the way my copy of Hell's Nightmare was received. There's a possibility the few copies listed for sale online are in better condition and that some of Derek Savage's other works could be floating around the internet as review copies just like this one.

Well thank you for that and it's everything I would have expected from Daddy Derek. Namely it's trash. Guy can't write effectively. But it was just another example of him trying to be more than he actually is.

Tried to be an actor and failed.
Tried to be a model and failed.
Tried to be a male dancer and failed.
Tried to make children's entertainment and failed.
Tried to create an awards show and failed.

Basically he's failed at everything he's tried to do.

Spoiler: Joyce is killed by a "racist punk"
And there went out another horse that was red. And power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another. And there was given to him a great sword.
-Revelations 6:3,4

The rider took the sword and quickly headed to the earth, waving the sword wildly.

"Yeehaw! I got me the urge to kill a nigger,"

I wonder what other failures he had, he sometimes comes off as resentful or fame hungry
