Sounds like blocking/ignoring them already accomplishes this. Or following, depending on how you use it.

@Null I formally protest the decision to remove reaction notifications for multiple reasons:

1. Micromanaging how users interact with the site is massively gay.

2. I’d rather know if my post had wrong/late information via receiving the reactions and edit/delete the post accordingly rather than have some tranny janny do such (which may not even happen).

3. There have been many lulzy spergouts from people caring too much about negative stickers and I feel that removing the notifications would decrease the frequency of such incidents.

4. It’s sometimes nice to be able to see that your posts from months/years ago start having people see them again, which I would not be able to adequately know unless I can see reaction scores.

Is this REALLY the reasoning?..... Did it get that bad? Because I didn't see it. Or at least not so hopelessly bad that other solutions wouldn't be much better.
Seems to me things were self moderated pretty good about that, sure people could farm a handful of points from shoveled out posts, but few posts that were truly generic quick posts rarely got over maybe 10 points.

All interesting ideas. KF is definitely big enough now that there's a real Heckler's Veto effect going on that could be addressed mechanically in a variety of ways.

I don't mind having alerts for reactions turned off, they don't really tell me when more content to a thread has been added.
I don't have to be notified every single time someone else thinks "yeah, this lolcow is a retard. I agree"
I'm glad that the stickers aren't being taken away entirely.
I never knew that the DM chain thing was a problem. I got added to one and avoided it, but I remember it had hundreds of users in the DM while only having 3 people actually conversing. Glad a rule was implemented.

This one's massive. Someone pings you on a old thread and suddenly you go "oh fuck I remember that". That happened recently with that old Sonichu comic "the real Sonichu " by I think blank, and that brought back so many memories of laughter.

Meditating a bit, it's not completely a bad thing since it probably discourage "looking at yourself" behavior which I feel I do it more on forums than in real life.

I still feel mixed on the issue. We should probably replace ratings with replies, but it isn't realistic since it means a lot of typing for every user you are interested.
