It’s sometimes nice to be able to see that your posts from months/years ago start having people see them again, which I would not be able to adequately know unless I can see reaction scores.

Meditating a bit, it's not completely a bad thing since it probably discourage "looking at yourself" behavior which I feel I do it more on forums than in real life.

I still feel mixed on the issue. We should probably replace ratings with replies, but it isn't realistic since it means a lot of typing for every user you are interested.

I don't think its worth losing reactions as a "pulse" on threads. I don't want to follow every damn thread I post in, nor bookmark them.

One worry of removing the reaction scores though I think is people are more likely to shit up a thread if they have no repercussion from it. Getting an auttistic sticker or something only matters really when it has that negative connotation from seeing their score drop. But this is just my behavioral psychology background talking.

I agree, it kinda acts like a soft gatekeep. If people are the types to come on here and protest "TRANS RITES" or some shit, a bunch of autistic / trash can reacts kinda gate-keeps those people, without needing to react with actual posts which boost the thread.
I know staff hates that, I kinda feel that will get WORSE.

Sometimes true, though I find people who don’t explicitly want to shit up the thread (but end up doing it anyways) can be notified of their mistakes by negative reactions. It helps the regulars of a thread self-moderate too, because it’s usually easier to give someone a trash can for their retarded post than it is to write up a response every time.

This one's massive. Someone pings you on a old thread and suddenly you go "oh fuck I remember that". That happened recently with that old Sonichu comic "the real Sonichu " by I think blank, and that brought back so many memories of laughter.

I like this too. Maybe after a certain time frame, say a few months, a post could have notifications enabled? That might be too much work for such a niche feature, though
