I said on Friday that seeing if he did the switch would be the key to sussing this out, and it looks like I was right. Or, at least, it looks like it.

I am kinda shocked he's not going Rumble exclusive, but I guess that makes sense for him if he wants to stick it to Rumble (or rather feel like he is... as I doubt they are out much of anything by not renewing). That might bite him in the ass though, since Youtube's community standards are higher, and he might end up Rumble exclusive anyways (or on another platform altogether).

My theory on this is that Nick was not very interested in religion, and the ELCA was a compromise to get him to come to some kind of church.

The national ELCA is extremely liberal and so are many churches within it, but not all. Especially in more rural areas, there are holdout churches that are not so liberal. That would especially be true in an area such as where Nick lives. Truely insane stuff (including outright paganism) exists within the ELCA. The worst example being a not even vaguely Christian abomination known as "herchurch". But its not a good idea to assume that all of it is that way. At least yet.

It's both an impressive and terrifying thing to see a man who at one point had so much prestige, fame and respect fall to such a humiliating low point, it's even more terrifying to think that he still can go even lower than where he currently is at.

The story of Nick sort of reminds me of a Greek tragedy, a protagonist who at one point of the story had everything he could have ever wanted but that thanks to his own hubris and greed would gradually lose it all, only to realize all too late that these tragic events were only brought about by his own actions.

He must have realized that it's called Anti-social personality disorder in adults (sociopathy). What I find more interesting is that there is evidence this is the case with him. He is definitely a narcissist and while not all narcissists are sociopaths, all sociopaths are narcissists. The skunk/racoon stories really make one wonder. I'm trying to remember any instances of actual empathy from him, that can't be explained away as self serving. One of the few instances I can think of that make me think he probably isn't, is when Kayla got him the painting, he is clearly disappointed when he opens it, but for her benefit promptly pretends that he loves it then makes sure it's in the background since. His reaction didn't seem like a manipulation tactic, it seemed genuinely done for Kayla's benefit, not his own. He showed genuine love and care in a way that was natural and how I would do so with my own wife. So for now I will just assume he isn't a sociopath and the "ODD" was just an excise to be a prick when people tried to help him.
