Well, you can still check that if you want. I just miss the convenience of getting an instant notification on activity for a thread. The "watch thread" option or navigating through to a separate page isn't convenient, and I honestly don't see the point of doing this. Technically nothing has changed aside from the score and added inconvenience.

It's not even the need to know what sticker I got than just the notification popping up. So checking defeats the purpose and takes extra steps I didnt need to take.

Otherwise, you nailed it on the head.

Not only is it inconvenient but it's "permanent:" all of these suggestions about "alternatives" are ass on mobile and I have to unbookmark/unwatch that shit to coincide with how "active" the thread would be which has a chance of being a wrong assumption.

And I already have hundreds of bookmarks last I checked.

Also holy shit I hate typing in mobile.

You realise that other people aren't you, right? And while you're a good poster I dunno if you've noticed but most of the rest of the userbase are carpet-chewing retards and absolutely are obsessed with their updoots.

I for one salute the incredibly mild and insignificant sacrifice you've been forced to make.

The derision you're giving to your fellow kiwi is ironic since you're the one being a contrarian faggot for the sake of some grudge over stickers.

I'm not denying my sheer laziness and need for convenience. Id rather suffer supposed carpet-chewers than hamper my own forum experience. I despise being forced into a sacrifice that's absolutely pointless.

I found some of these PM threads entertainingly unhinged, but the Oooperator has made a good rule. PM spam gets a bit old. Whatever way, it's fine. Bill No Fong has failed to take down this forum and I'm happy about that.

I can tell that this is very, very important to you. Good luck on your quest.
It absolutely is. My fellow A&Ners absolutely need to know when they receive one of my coveted Islamic Content stickers. I think the happy medium would be if Null kept the score hidden but allowed users the option to turn sticker notifications back on because the vast majority of A&N absolutely will.

I didn't report them. I just ignored them. I would also go in and shitpoast occasionally. That's what they get for inviting me.

I think more people need to make sock accounts then start arguing with their socks and reporting the socks. I have seen people do this on other forums a long time ago. But reporting the socks is something new. LOL

I don't really mind the DM threads but can see how they get annoying and probably fuck shit up somehow on the back end, I'm in like fucking five of them at the moment, one of which has 750 participants, almost 75K replies and the last three pages of the DM thread are completely blank and you have to go back to see the most recent messages, which is probably the result of it bugging the fuck out of something. I mostly don't pay attention to them anymore.

Do want reaction score turned back on because MUH VALIDATION and I also got a kick out of seeing people with negative scores, it's unreasonably funny to me.

I don't understand why this decision was made and it won't improve the quality of posts on the forum. I'll freely admit I'm a dopamine addict monkey (like everyone else is, whether they admit it or not) and the stickers were a form of positive reinforcement.

After spending an hour (sometimes multiple hours) crafting a highlight-worthy post, it was always so rewarding to go and do something else then return to a fat pile of reaction alerts. It shows that people are engaged and you aren't just screaming into the void.

Our time is valuable so there must be some incentive for putting in the effort to make good posts. The Internet points may be functionally meaningless but having a really good post:score ratio and getting showered with praise is an incentive to continue putting in the time and energy.

Now there is outwardly no difference between users who spend hours making informative posts and the retards that spam Q&A.

Us mobile niggers are truly the most oppressed kiwis.

But, really, is it so bad to have feedback if a post you made is dumb? The fact people cared enough about negrates to report to Null is retarded.
The real value of reactions it at they cut down on superfluous replies. If someone writes something good or informative, you don't have to add a whole new post saying "good post", you just click Like or Agree or Winner if it's really good. Similarly, without a post having a pile of Dumb ratings to reassure people that everybody already knows a stupid post is stupid, people feel obliged to reply to it.

Compare that to forums like Mumsnet where there is no react and half a thread is things like "Great post". Or with Reddit at the opposite end where the mob mind determines whether or not others will even see a post.

No, KiwiFarms has the best reaction system I've seen. (Cue a pile of whacky reactions to this post just to prove me wrong...)
