I understand you're desperate for attention since the sticker drip got cut off but please kill yourself.
The only reason I knew that you said something so spectacularly stupid is that you quoted my post. Way to make my point, retard.

It's going to be quoteageddon out there. I left Something Awful to get away from fucking white noise posts. Well, that and mentally-ill communist cross-dressers.

You quoted me first, retard.

I have to assume everyone itt lives on a ventilator because you're all too stupid to breath on your own

Sounds like a lot of work and friction to implement vs you just clicking on 'reactions received'. Do you think that is unreasonable? Is it more or less unreasonable than BG's proposal?
You don't know what friction means. If something on a site requires more clicks to do, or if something requires opening an entirely new tab instead of just clicking a button, it is simply a matter of fact that less people are going to do it. This is what friction means in this context - Null talked about this on stream wrt the legal fund site, even.

Null removed the sticker notifs to lessen the amount of stickersperging, but in doing so got rid of a feature that many users used to get rid of friction. When we complained about losing a feature that makes browsing the site easier (especially on mobile), the complaints over the loss of convenience were pretty much just disregarded entirely in favor of getting rid of stickerspergs.

I am not saying that the removal has made it impossible to use the site, I am saying that @Balldo's Gate's proposal would give us back the convenience that the sticker notifs gave us without enabling stickerspergs, and that I and others upset over the removal would have no further complaints if it were just replaced with the non-sticker-oriented alternative.

Just bookmark this page if clicking twice is too much for you:

Nice duck.

This reply is to notify you that I deemed you both worthy of the “winner” sticker. Have a nice day.

i can now use the exclusive reacts, i am very smart

@Spunt I appreciate you for taking the time to hear me out. Especially when things are a bit hostile and chaotic at the moment.

On some level, I can live with the changes since I only follow a few threads. But it'd be nice to branch out into other parts of the Farms like Art and Literature, or to learn about different people of interest, and notifications do facilitate that the best.

So you're mad that other people ostensibly don't see that you are butthurt, that is somehow more pathetic than my previous assumption
don't talk about the pot being black, nigger.
I disabled those fuckers immediately because they drove me nuts. People actually keep them on? How do you not get distracted all the time if you're a relatively active poster?

The schism is between people who obsess over single threads or boards, and people who interact with the entire site.

Which is funny, because for the last 2 years Null has been complaining about the silo people who go to 4chan or Discord when the site has other areas they could explore. Now those people are defending Null for killing a feature that was useful when moving across the entire site.
I'm honestly laughing at how the reaction to seeing people do what you want them to do is to tell them you're doing it wrong and then somehow think they're not even doing what you want them to do somehow.

I cannot reiterate hard enough that I'm not going to "watch" literally dozens of threads with usually no activity for months at a time (cough prospering grounds cough). Just to get a crumb of milk, because people are assmad about negrates. If anything I'll just look at the more active lolcow threads and ignore the 'smaller' ones. Or just not even bother and use community happenings like all the other lazy faggots.

Because @Balldo's Gate's idea is a good compromise. As has been repeatedly said: the stickers aren't the crux of the issue (at least for me), it's knowing whether or not a thread you've posted to within the last few days (that you preferred to not click 'watch' on) is active or not.

Sticker notifs were just a good way of telling that, but Balldo's suggestion of a system that notifies you of posts within an unwatched thread a few days after you posted would work great! Again, idgaf about stickers, I just don't want to have to watch every thread I post to or manually navigate around the entire site to know if they're active or not.
An option to automatically unwatch threads then rewatch it could work too.

Actually, why not have watched threads have pages at a very low limit, like 4 per page? That way the more "active" ones end up on top. Actually no, that won't solve the issue of people posting but with no updates

Im amenable to nuking stickers entirely, but I do like a notification that isnt exclusively watching threads.

Notice how they keep trying to frame it as being about score stuff, I bet most these people are just butthurt they can't get asspats everywhere they go on the forum.
(Cause I've def seen them get their asses handed to them in A&N, like HHH who basically started the whole "THEY ARE MAD ABOUT STICKERS" shit... even though he was mad about all the tophats he got for his Covid and Trump insanity)

Null thinks everyone is very interested in only a few cows or threads, therefore I should Watch,
I think this is the crux of the issue. If you're browsing 20 threads a day especially threads that may be very active for just one day (a happening, a mass debate, A&N, a brand new thread, a PG post) watched threads becomes a huge amount of work. Notifications allow for a floating cloud of interest to change shape throughout the day.

We're here generating multiple convoluted steps to achieve a scenario that's present in base Xenforo just so that a few obsessives will stop crying? All he'd have to do is as soon as you complain, you lose your sticker abilities (see, do, etc). Implementing this site wide is just an overall decrease. I can't see any upside except causing certain users to be inconvenienced or upset.

I had closed this tab to cool off and do something else. I got a notification (quote). I came back to the thread to see what's new. What a wonderful system!

If only there were other real-time ways to drive interest back to threads you recently visited, that didn't require a direct quote or cramming it onto a cluttered watchlist. Now, I would be a real asshole if I demanded Null create that system out of thin air. But just imagine the world where such a system already existed, free of charge, just waiting to make life a little more pleasant for everyone on the site.
