Should sticker notifications be brought back?

The very first question I had in my mind was why Null couldnt just leave notifications alone, and just remove the sticker score, but his explanations didn't make a whole lot of sense, and he wasn't receptive to elaborating much further.
Again, it's not the notifications that @Null fucked up. Separating reply/watched thread post notifications from reactions was a very good move, you can still see all your precious stickers with two clicks. The problem is removing the reaction score because it had proper utility in gauging another user's validity.

It amazes me how people are bitching over shit they can still view but 100% fine with complete removal of an objectively useful mechanic that's been a thing for years, using hamfisted arguments like "muh Reddit karma" when Farms culture approached it entirely different from Reddit karma.

d about new activity in threads I have recently posted in?
Replace sticker notifications with this and I would have no complaints @Null

See, that's precisely the problem with some of these new changes. Kiwi Farms isn't 4chan and has always marketed itself on being an actual forum, not an imageboard.
Reactions still work.
Received reactions are still observable.
There are multiple ways to subscribe to threads.
This does not impact how a normal person operates a normal forum.

I'm sorry but I cannot take anyone begging to be updated every time someone likes your fucking post seriously. If you're actually using that to navigate the site and remember where you're posting you've trained your brain to use the site wrong.

I'm not making any more changes for a week at least. Figure out how forums work. You're not using the forum like a forum, you're using it like twitter. If you want twitter, use twitter.

I am convinced most of you complaining about change are indirectly offloading your upset you can't see your reddit karma by trying to make it sound like a validate complaint. "no really I navigate the entire website by a breadcrumb of sticker alerts, and I simply cannot use it without that." really nigger?

Fuck the stickers. But why stop there? Ban all the tranimes and furfags and then we can all coexist in the perfect kiwitopia.

I like the idea of having a retard alert feature. Something where if you come across @LikeRivenIRL or @Omori Boy you know at first glance that they're gay and retarded without having to read a single word. The pink triangle just doesn't cut it on that front.

It's dubious to say a high reaction score is a metric to gauge a user's validity; plenty of very notable kiwis with high scores ended up banned or ousted as a bit of a cow themselves.

And stickers on their own mean nothing to the majority of the thread participants, so having it two clicks away only sabotages the faggots who do care about stickers.

Not to rehash everything said, but a good portion of Kiwis liked notifications for being notifications, and we'd take removing scores if it meant notifications were untouched. The poll is testament to that.

Please go read my earlier posts in this thread. I support your changes to the reaction system in terms of separating reaction notifications from others. Where I see an issue is removing reaction score because it was a great representation of whether someone was a user worth listening to or not. Let's be honest here, for one to have a negative reaction score, they must be a troll or a huge retard.

Null: We did it, guys, we have reached the money goal and Im so thankful for you all having stuck around despite all the downtime. I was really afraid that there wouldnt be much of a community left once I was able to restore some level of stability. Im glad for the community we were able to build and last through all the clown world troonery.

A few weeks later...

Null: You niggers have annoyed me for the last time. Im at this moment removing a function nearly everyone uses, even if its just to basic convenience (lazy faggots I say). This isnt Twitter or Reddit (because, yes, caring about stickers and notifications makes this just like those two). No, Im not willing to discuss this with leveled headed members of this community and consider a less extreme alternative that benefits everyone. It is MY site and if you dont like it, you can just leave, dopamine fiends!

With all due respect, Null, what the fuck?

It is. Null is nailing a widely-used feature to a cross and lighting it on fire to spite a handful of faggots who couldn't handle being on the Internet. The forum has an extremely healthy culture of mocking people who care about updoots.

That always ends well

They're the exception, not the rule. I can't tell you how many times I've seen a user with a negative reaction score, thought "yeah, this guy's posts are probably retarded, he has to be in the negative for a reason" and been proven right after reading their posts.

It's not a foolproof system, I'll grant you that, but removing it was only detrimental.

I agree 100% with this. The separation was a great change. I don't mind having to click twice.

I don't care about sticker fags being butthurt about losing their updoot dopamine, I care because I'm lazy and sticker notifs are a quick and easy way to jump back where I left off in a thread.

So bring 'em back, or else we should all pee in Null's cornflakes.

Or at the very least add some reaper pepper sauce in when he's not looking.

I didn't realize "legal fund" meant "I am never permitted to modify the forum ever again". Last I checked, the site is still permitting dumbass opinions completely unmitigated, and you can even click the stupid ass fucking buttons that apparently make up your entire sense of self-worth.

The honest mental gymnastics I'm seeing to defend a function that does nothing fills me with contempt.

I use the site in a way you find retarded because that is how I use your site in a way that is maximally enjoyable to me. The people you are actually mad at are retards that genuinely get upset by negratings. Myself and them are not the same.

Then why are you unable to continue using the forum with the Received Reactions page? If you actually do just re-read a thread every single fucking time you see a post has a new turd button pressed on it, why can't you do this from a different page without a constant never-ending flow of notifications about every post you've ever made?
