Should sticker notifications be brought back?

I think null is slowly being proven right about people having forgotten how to use forums when we have posts like this:

specimen a) a nigga who can't rate a post without checking the user beforehand

specimen b) a nigga who links and screenshots one of their own posts from 3 hours prior, who edited it again just before screenshotting it??
It was edited to fix a grammatical error and the post is still valid regardless if it is my own. A lot of users trying to make their point got buried by endless repeating cries of "WOW REDDIT UPVOTES GONE, LEARN HOW TO USE A REAL FORUM."

I don't care if a longwinded rant of mine gets a ton of updoots because people agreed with it but I'm pretty sure my most positively reacted to post is just me saying "Niggers BTFO" to something and in cases like that, I like getting notifications because the more I get, the funnier it is.

I think they've been a feature for a while but unsure how long that has been. Believe the original intention was just to have a basic ability to private message people for whatever reason.
Right, but I mean group replies specifically, seems odd to have secret threads on this forum especially.
I will admit when I was sniping the killstream, it was really handy to be able to make a mass DM with the 20ish people interested in watching the streams. If I posted links publicly on the gunt board, Ralph would just flag them. I was bouncing between like 5 different accounts, just to give people a place to watch Ralph without giving him views before it stopped being fun.
Yeah, I can see the convenience. It would be less efficient but you could 1-on-1 DM everyone who wanted to watch and talk about it on the main thread or a separate thread or something like that. Or @Null could even rework it to something like an email where you can copy people in without making a sekrit thread, I think that'd solve some of the problems without fucking with DMs or stickers.
TBH i really dislike it because I always viewed reactions as basically a lower effort way to send a message to the poster about what you thought instead of quoting and just saying "agree" or some shit. Removing this entirely defeats the point of using reacts
And the last thing this site needs is more bloated threads with people not posting anything of relevance.

Okay. Look. I think we can all agree, seeing the notification, clicking it, and seeing positive reactions gives our sad little basement brains the dopamine we need to keep us from offing ourselves.

They'll see it if they check their post later.
Not if they made the post a few days ago, unless everyone is checking every post they ever made, every day. They might see it if they constantly check their Reactions page, but then that's the kind of evil braindead psychological damage behavior this change was supposed to fix.

This started because I received feedback from multiple users that they prefer to post in fucking retarded DM chains specifically because they don't want negative feedback on their posts. They have been discouraged from using this webforum as a forum because they do not feel safe to post as a result of these incessant notifications and looming persistent scorecard ratings. That is FUCKING STUPID. That means the site is broken and is fundamentally failing to encourage people to use it. It means that the reaction system, which exists to provide feedback on individual posts, is having a chilling effect on the entire site.
I didn't comment on Mankirk's feedback earlier but the reason I like chains is also related to reactions. He said it was the lowest point on his list but it's genuinely #1 for me, if indirectly.
Why? Because the people in them always have a fucking PERSONALITY. Whether they're funnyguys or spastics invited to get mad, they stand out from the homogeneous gangminded fucks I've been saying for half a decade that stickers were gonna breed. This has gotten so bad that 90% of the faggots here feel like you're talking to the same person.

This thread is a great zoo of the worst of this shit and the dipshit tactics stickers have cultivated. Why actually argue honestly with someone when you can make some lazy effort and be the first to hit their post with an autist sticker to tell your fellow retards which button to click? Why maintain any coherency in your replies to collaborate into a genuine debate when you're winning in sticker count? You really care about reactions so surely hitting the other guy with a hat icon in their notifications will hurt them as much as it'd hurt you.
Discussion is secondary and reading a thread further than the latest page isn't necessary for sticker farming so there's no reason not to contradict something you said last page or misrepresent the conversation ad-hoc. You're not gonna get dogpiled for being a dishonest faggot or fucking up the SNR, nobody really does that anymore since they'll get mean 'u mad' stickers from anyone not actually reading (everyone who matters going by sticker counts).
Regardless of the fact that good users don't act this way, stickerbrained fucktards have been living in their own parallel retard universe getting their mindnumbing slime all over everything.

They're all claiming they totally don't really take stickers to heart and it's really about ~UI principles~ but the thread is clearly teeming with this ingrained mindset.
It's gonna take a while to bully people out of this shit generally but I think these have been fantastic changes.

notifications are gay and people who care about them are even gayer
forums need less notifications, not more

just look at threads you're interested in. you don't need to know if someone gave your retarded comment reddit gold or not
it's self masturbatory dimwittery

edit to say: groomercord/pm users always gonna find a way. they say its about stickers or w/e but that's just an excuse

Why the fuck are you repeatedly checking every post you make? Once you know the general reaction your post has received what the fuck does it matter? You that desperate for dopamine?
First off that's literally the exact opposite of what he just said, and secondly how many times does it have to be made clear the "muh dopamine, you're literally giving yourself psychological damage by seeing if the thread you posted in is active and being engaged with!" deflection is completely missing the point of what we're saying.
