Plus, the surgeons performing necessary mastectomies tend to be more careful and considerate of aesthetics to minimize scarring and leave the door open for breast reconstruction in the future as opposed to trying to just hack them off.

His backstory also explains how he ended up marginalized , it wasn't just "society bad and oppresive" because he pretty much put himself there with his choices. Unsurprisingly the wokies have been going hard against the movie for a while, when it was seen as progressive around the time it came out, if satoshi.
