Funny how nobody, not even Black Isle with Fallout 2, had replicated the magic of the original. Closest thing to it would be New Vegas, but even then that game shares just as much DNA with Fallout 2 and, due to the engine it uses, Fallout 3 and even Oblivion.

Ima say it, for its jank Oblivion is still imo the second best game Bethesda themselves have ever made right after Morrowind.

That said considering how the creators of FO1 itself where responsible for The Outer Worlds, a game I like the general gameplay of but my god do I wish I could kill everyone that isn't the priest companion and the sports star companion, I think FO1 being as good as it is was a bit of a miracle. Also ngl I know this is probably a hot take but I really wish people didn't treat it and NV like sacred cows, NV is one of my favorite games of all time but it has its issues even ignoring Gamebryo jank.

Honestly I never saw that as a contradiction so much as just an implication that animals where an exception, frankly you need female brahmin for some things such as breeding new livestock.

I'm 90% sure that the NCR has just been written out of the canon. Just a guess, but seeing what they've changed just from the trailers alone I'd be shocked if I was wrong.

Honestly if they had gone the 76 route of having it take place before the other games, with a vault dweller trying to piece together the mysteries of Appalachia, I would have been on board. 76 has some creepy lore with good monster designs that would make sense for a show to drip feed over 8 episodes.

Instead we have murky canon that erases large portions of older titles to fit in whatever stupid story they have conceived.

Someone at Bethesda really loves Lovecraft. Also should stick with it. Hell, have an entire Fallout game about that shit. Better than whatever retarded dad-plot they rehashed.

I have no clue as to why modern marketing has to be so soulless, and I'm not surprised either. As with posters for most modern moves or shows, this poster looks like it would be suited for a Chinese DVD bootleg, not something completely legit

I still remember stumbling upon that Dunwich building in Fallout 3 by chance. I recognized the name, but sure as hell didn't expect there to be a damn obelisk to a Great Old One in the basement. I thought that was great. Fallout 4 went a little too far with playing their hand with the Dunwich Borers/Cabot House quest, but it was a nice change of pace from the usual synth stuff.

Borers was great, but they really did a bit much with Cabot House.

Ok I will shit on this show, but I can appreciate that at least this thing isnt a hunk of plastic. I wouldnt touch it for $200 bucks but they went the premium route at least.
