There's counter-evidence, his former co-writer said that he's "aware of the situation" and there's "nothing to worry about". Tied with the story James created that his editor still has access to the channel so can posthumously upload videos that were "already recorded", and I suspect he's probably still making content and is hoping the heat will die down. It would be very stupid to pretend to have killed yourself only to try and sneak back online without addressing the fact you had not killed yourself, but we're dealing with stupid people.
