Heard about the sodium levels in the last T8 stream and decided to check it out. Holy shit. Playing fighting games for decades and still doesn't understand why some moves beat others. Someone needs to suggest he watch CoreA gaming's video on frames and frame data. He spams heavy moves with tons of start up and wonders why jabs always catch him. He's talking about he wants to learn when I don't think he's labbed a single situation in training mode. Hell, he can watch replays and get tips on what he SHOULD be doing. His burst into grab is so scrubby and he almost always mashes the grab too early putting him too far away. Blocking low is his kryptonite and he never side steps or ducks.

Thing is, he could totally make bank leaning into this shit if he wasn't also so supremely unlikeable as a person. There's still an audience for "the angry X" type youtubers, as seen by how popular his and LTG's rage videos are. But his ego doesn't allow it, and he seems to really believe he's just so much better than everyone else but the whole world is conspiring against him to cheat him out of what he deserves.

Just saw his meltdown from last night. I don't pay much attention to him lately but that seemed like the biggest meltdown he's had in a long time. Ironically though that's the DSP I miss. I started his stream and the second I join its him getting getting beaten at the KO screen saying 'they keep mashing buttons' 'EVERY PLAYER IS A BUTTON MASHER'. He's so mad that every player is beating him but also they're all worse than him.

Makes one wonder why he doesn't just 'button mash' to win.

This is what gets me: he complaind in SF & about "Mash that jab scrub" while totally ignoring that the game has a tutorial called "Rapid cancel'" which shows that quick jabs are a way to defend yourself and set up a counter attack. Like did this idiot not do all the tuorials to learn tzhe game? Or does he think "heavy beats light" in a pig way of stone paper scissors? His dumb com,mentary makes it sound as if he plays fighting game like a freaking turn based combat game ""when is my turn!!!!" Add to that: he has admitted last year he doesn't like it when his opponent gets up in his face. No sahit Sherlock we see it every time he has t6o deal with aggressive opponents

If he really does it he will hate Ed. Ed is like Aki, you need tro make precise timed inputs for the big combos. Though Ed can be really devastating if it goes through. Funny enough I did the placement matches with Ed (modern controls because I am a mongoloid) and despite only winning 5 of them the game puts me right in Silver. That has nevert happened with the other chars I have placed.

I did my Ed placements on modern as well (I don't have the brain power or coordination to play classic) and despite only beating gold players and losing to every platinum the game decided to throw me into Diamond 3. But yea Ed is tough to use even with simple inputs so Dave would despise him.

Not sure what settings you used. I set my game to "I am new" so I start with either new challengers, Iron, bronze or even Silver. Funny enough thougj with my first char (Manon) I also won 5 or 6 games and the game put me in Iron. Figure that one out.

Though I want to see Phil play as Ed. I mean the first stream will just be combo trials and guide plus casual matches. This is probably just a small potential for salt. On the other hand he hasn't played for probably months so even "casual" matches might him getting his shit pushed in

The best part is him pouting that nobody in his chat was telling him what to do. Most likely because they know if they point out what he's doing wrong he'll snap and ban them. He really thinks he's too good to just go into training and practice with characters and learn their kits.

I know it’s just empty complaining and excuse making but it’s so funny that Phil complains about people either using move sequences that repeatedly work against him or using attacks that are fast start high priority moves. Yeah Phil people should use objectively worse strategies because… it’s more sportsmanlike? Or something? Oh wait it’s because he’s a scrub and it would make it easier for him to not get demolished by competent players and have his ego bruised any further. Sound good?
