Assuming this is indeed genuine, I wouldn't take any statements made by Pat as factual. Everyone here knows how much he'll distort the truth to warp it to fit his own weird reality and why would it be any different in this case?

If he did sign something that he thought was an NDA, I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if the SFWA lawyers included clauses in there to get them out of that dumpster fire of a lawsuit.
