I let the mask slip a bit the other day when I was checking an ID of this standard looking dumpy pooner and the picture was from a few years ago and she had been beautiful and I let a "Jesus Christ" slip out. I would have felt better if she had been mad or indignant but instead just just gave me a really sad look and walked inside.

I think that's an actual morbidly obese black male, not a pooner. Black FTMs trend to hew pretty closely to old "stud" stereotypes (the black equivalent of butch), as far as I've seen.

I do not know if anybody else feels this way, but the Mickey Mouse HRT box and the "Peppa the Pig" Band-Aids just scream "masculine" to me, amirite?

The way pooners are just like MTFs in that they all seem to come off a conveyor belt is so funny to me. I was having lunch with my mother last weekend, and she was complaining about how one of her coworkers was making her part-time retirement job miserable. My mom described her as this tiny woman in her 40s with a buzz cut that thinks she's a man but bizarrely has the most womanly characteristics possible. She got reprimanded for constantly complaining about her period (to the MEN), spends all her paychecks on upgrading her pickup truck, and is about to start testosterone despite obvious mental health issues. Of course I had to tell my mother about pooners, and when I showed her some of the art in this thread it absolutely blew her mind how accurate it was and that pooners were even a "thing." (the "grillin with the bois" one is her fav)

Christian therapists who have legitimate degrees and not some certificate from a church will often provide actual therapy without getting Jesus-y if you inform them you're not interested in discussing religion. However, they maintain a conservative position on gender identity most of the time. And some gender-critical people on a forum were recommending Jungian therapists, as 'wanting to be a boy' is seen as symbolic of something in the woman's life that needs to be solved by figuring out what is missing--instead of transitioning.
