Yes. This entire thing is pathetic, gay, and demoralizing. I have never seen so many of the worst elements of the site crawl out at once. Random antagonizing of specific users for no apparent reason, baseless speculation on ulterior motives, people wanting the site to die, immediately jumping to bizarre personal attacks against me for no reason, deliberately misconstruing what I've said to try and epicly own me. It really is a moment where I have to sit back and reflect on, "are these the people I've put so much of myself out there to try and keep together?".
It's genuinely sickening and fills me with contempt. On top of that, the complicating factor is what the anger is over. The "cherished site feature" is an instantaneous notification that someone liked your post. That's it. Reddit doesn't even do that. Reddit doesn't even tell you every time someone upvotes your comment. But that's what people are malding this much over, and of course that anger is misplaced and directed at either me personally or other people you don't like.
It's literally like watching a child throw a tantrum and start throwing stuff, but children have the benefit of an undeveloped brain. They literally lack the tools to deal with their emotions. This is a group of full grown adults, many in their 30s and older, upset that they will not be notified the same second someone likes their post on the Kiwi Farms, and remaining upset for a week.
