This feels different in a lot of ways.

This isn't the GAO or The Senate doing some stuffy thing in a congressional hearing room, this is organic, and everyone's not just connected and talking about it, they're connected with the immediate survivors themselves who are screaming at the top of their lungs.

Also, we have tons of proof that I'm putting here as fast as I can! And unsilenced.org has a ton too.

On top of that, a big advantage is we have some visceral evidence of this: the program itself being shown, albeit in a dilapidated way, some of the horror shown on camera, even if it was sugarcoated (though I'm told by people who are new to this the palms up palms down x 8 hours things really got them fucked up, same with the name tags, "mistake" and "crackwhore"), and faces and voices to it all.

It's not perfect. Male survivors are left out in the cold. Men don't get hurt the way women get hurt, men don't act hurt the way women act hurt, and survivor spaces are very female dominated. The general public is more sympathetic for a hurt woman than a hurt man, even if it happened as a child. Over half of the victims are still forced to repress this shit and gaslit or even swatted (or 'welfare checked') if they act too angry.

On the other hand, that damned letter seems to have caught on, at least here. There's also the fact that there's such an uproar that the worst individuals are finally being outed in a way that might keep the shitstorm going.

It's hard to articulate, but it's basically a cult masquerading as a school or rehab of some sort. The culty bit is for the parents and staff as much as the kids.

"Hurt them because good for them/make them behave" is the crux of it all, with varying degrees of psychological torture under the guise of "hurt is good, breakdown is break through".

There is fuckall vetting. They really only care if you're a cheap thug, or keep your mouth quiet when you get your dick or fingers wet, or if you brown nose to rise in the ranks and go start your own program. It's all about power and control, with the addition of a payday for the people at the top.

The more you dig the worse it gets. While Tranquility Bay, High Impact, and Provo Canyon stand out as being physically brutal, do not forget that each and every one of these places is a hotbed for pedophiles, child-beaters, and child killers, and each and every child in all of these places is psychologically tortured every second of every day for months to years. The kill count is unknown but estimates aren't great, and I'm just talking about in program deaths, not even accounting for suicide and OD after they turn 18 or 'graduate'.

The sickest part is that when Tinkerbell fucks off and you see the world in its naked ugliness, you're left changed for the worst and unable to relate to most people. I struggle to trust anyone, and can't even enjoy the company of most people since I know that if I tell them about this they'll just cope and avoid and forget instead of do a god damned thing, but will rattle off nonsense from the talking heads on their screen of choice and blow up if I don't care about their designated opinions from their political pablum dealer. My niece went through a "therapy" hospital. Not nearly as bad as many, but in the therapy circle, she tried to talk about being sexually assaulted, and was promptly shut down, saying nobody wanted to hear things like that. Another girl tried to do the same and they tore her down basically saying it likely wouldn't happen again bevause she wasn't attractive enough.
This was a *mental hospital*. She wasn't allowed to leave until the docs said so, at first I was for it because I thought they'd help her escape her abusive grandparents.... instead, they were just as bad. Somehow not worse, but it changed her.
I cannot fathom the extent of the damage done, I've reported who I could, called different therapist offices to warn them to never send children there, with my nieces permission, and managed to get them blacklisted from about 5 agencies. I don't know how long that will last, unfortunately.
