Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

imagine throwing your life away for a clip that's just gonna be laughed at on /pol/ and telegram channels.
Molotov attack at a Russian voting location:

Fucking LOL! With this kind of steely, competent opposition, Putin days clearly are numbered!

Also note the enthusiasm from the passersby that this action arose.
A few things about the Molotov attacks on polling places

1) Polling stations are predominantly schools.

2) For this particular attack, they promised to pay (and didn't pay) 30,000 rubles, which is roughly equivalent to 300 bucks, in exchange for up to 5 years in prison.

Well that's dumb. Rule of thumb for if you're going to take money for something illegal, make sure it's enough to move to somewhere without an extradition treaty. And make sure you get paid.

Depends what you're asking. For $300 bucks I'd find Gavin Newsom and
[REDACTED]
In fact, do you have $3?

Who are "they"? Don't tell me some numpty threw their freedom away because an internet troll dangled money in front of them.

This is exactly what happened. She had maxed out her credit cards and they said they would take care of it.

She won't be jailed, though. They are charging her with Article 141, and the maximum penalty for that is 800$ fine and one year of community service.

Regarding the missile strike. yes it sucks, yes it looks bad. but to me its all about crushing AFU morale. its basically the SPARTA battalions tactics of wounding men and women and targeting the rescuers on a much larger scale. its terrible because it works.

About the polling station freedom fighters, honestly happy they seem to be getting let off with a slap on the wrist, it reinforces the idea that they are not partisans in the woods but idiots who need less reddit.

I'm not sure it helps lead to a lasting peace or a healthy partner country. If you think a weak and collapsing country is better to have on your borders than a healthy one, I think the history of the Middle East says strongly otherwise. If nothing else, its citizenry are then dependent on foreign global powers like the USA and serve as an eternal proxy for your enemies.

That's just replying on the practical level. On a moral level I think the tactics of deliberately wounding men and women and targeting rescuers is reprehensible.

Ukraine is going to be a nato puppet when this is over. better cripple them now. their demographics are already in freefall. Russia does not want another Finland. we are in total ukraine death mode now.

Morals are for Westoids, Victory must come first. Besides its not like the ukrops are paragons of the laws of war

This was in Odessa. Maybe Ukraine is going to be a NATO puppet, but I'm not sure Odessa is going to be in Ukraine.

Besides, a crippled Ukraine is always going to be a NATO puppet with no resistance because it will have no choice. A stronger Ukraine is actually worse for Globohomo. Many of the people in the Ukraine are, at the end of the day, Russian. Russia has called this a "brother war" for a reason.
Morals are for Westoids,
Evidence so far suggests otherwise. Russia has been doing quite a bit to avoid civilian casualties and I'd like to see them maintain that moral high ground rather than speed run the whole "become like your enemy" thing.

Also do you honestly at this point think it's a choice between becoming like the Washington neocons or losing? Russia is winning and all evidence shows the pace of victory accelerating. Lets not cast it as Morals vs. Victory.

It is my fear that, in a way, Ukrainian propaganda has played itself. It painted Russians as inhuman monsters that indiscriminately slaughter innocent people by the thousand (see Bucha) even as the Russians took pains to avoid unnecessary harm, sometimes to their own detriment. The seeds fell into a fertile ground and the First World is now convinced that Russia is raping babies with bayonets.

There is nothing they can do now that Russia has actually started killing civilizans because what, are they going to call them double plus murderers with extra murder on top?

It was always such with Western propaganda. Statements that Gadaffi was issuing viagra to the Libyan army to better help it rape people immediately spring to mind.

But to my mind it wasn't and wont be the fear of being condemned by the West that keeps Russia from deliberately targeting medics and hospitals. It will be Russia that keeps Russia from doing so. They already know the West lies about them. But bystander countries, their own countries and people on the ground in the warzone in Ukraine will know. As will investigations over time.

As someone far away from the conflict and not involved in a combat way, my primary involvement is to counter untrue Western propaganda. Which I do. That propaganda not being true helps me in my task. What's really striking to me is the glee with which NAFO types or some in the Ukranian Defensive War thread greet any sign of a Russian atrocity. If they were motivated by compassion, Russia dropping a bomb on a school (or appearing to) would be a cause for sadness in such people. But instead what I see often enough is great satisfaction in having one more tool to use. Like your example of Bucha - shaky evidence but received gleefully by the NAFO types who don't care about the victims but love having something to wave around. I don't like giving them the satisfaction.

I doubt Russia timed the follow-up strike deliberately to target hospital people. It was probably just a matter of organisation or getting some follow-up feedback and seeing a second or surviving target. But the celebration or justifications of targeting medics are still something I will argue about. Primarily on moral grounds though I'm happy to criticise arguments it is pragmatically effective as well. Russia isn't involved in a war of genocide here. It wants to build a secure and stable border for itself and, for the land that remains within it after the end of this war, to be able to rebuild and bring about civil stability as quickly as possible.

That's my hope. I'm working on a screenshot of an auto translate of an unconfirmed telegram message about the second strike and my own google-fu as to where it was.

There is some wriggle room here.

Russia have gone out of their way to avoid civilian casualties (=they haven't nuked Lvov yet) so I really hope they didn't pwn a bunch of civilians in a traditionally Russian city.

Every injured person in captured/reintegrated territory will become Russia's burden. Every paramedic and firefighter that dies in a followup strike is one less to build Russian Odessa's future with.
