Hey guys, I am starting to notice a pattern here

How the fuck did creepypasta and mascot horror avoided a lot of the safe space crowd? Most of the fandoms of both are still children and not childless late 20s to 30 year old adults?

Well, they're not wrong. That is, the kids are now safer with them in their discord servers, where they can safely groom them to be trannies just like them, sext them, ask them for revealing photos, indoctrinate them into being addicted to porn, have them cut their bodies for the pleasure of the server owners, and most importantly keep the kids away from the chuddy 4channers who could do something problematic to them or irreversibly change their psyche. Or worse, turn them into racists, YIKES! Yep, they're much safer now, there is even a trans flag on every page no matter which article you try to read on the site. How much more accepting can one community get?

What I don’t get is why parents can’t just watch their fucking kids? And no, not like that as many of these people probably would do if it became legal.

What I mean is, why would you create a human being just to be like, eh fuck you I’m gonna go do useless shit I could do with you in the room anyway like watch tv, but nah I’ll just leave you alone 12 year old daughter to watch grown men who play fucking minecraft for a living. Surely these people are well adjusted, because hey, they have an internet connection!

For me, if I ever have a kid? They can definitely facebook. Face book and study. And if I wind up getting shot by my own kids for being too strict? Hey at least I tried to be a parent. People have kids and then just don’t watch them at all. It’s stupid.

I wish I could remember what it was called but one of the most interesting ARGs I ever came across was the one where a half-machine, half-biological entity seemed to be waking up and sending signals from the deepest Mariana trench. It was creepy and was also a proper ARG with codes to solve. And code solving that actually made sense in the setting of the world and not just stuck in for fun.
I don’t know if anyone remembers that one. I don’t think it was finished but I haven’t heard anything about it for a couple of years.

That's definitely NOC+10. That was my favorite flavor of horror/ARG content back in the day, i.e. "there is something broadcasting that shouldn't be". I remember the Marble Hornets guy started a similar project regarding an abandoned/closed TV station, no clue where that's gone either. Really liked how there were two perspectives: what the station/entity running the station was outputting, and an outsider trying to figure out what the fuck is going on.

Probably because those who grew up on those look back on it and think "this is stupid" before leaving since they're old now, only to be replaced by new kiddies who take interest. Kinda like burning a forest to get new sapplings planted.

Did you ever find it weird how quickly people turn on those who made things they love but also how quickly they assume that because someone made something they like, the person automatically must think like and be exactly like them as a person?

I blame the SCP fandom

It's almost certainly been said somewhere in the SCP thread, but every new SCP is written - and old SCPs rewritten - to be chiefly about the additional logs (exploration, incidents, etc.) and not necessarily the SCP itself, usually ignoring the original intent of a faceless, bureaucratic, indifferent Foundation for a ""more human"" approach. I feel that style of writing has also influenced (infected) analog horror/ARGs. Though I don't know who's more to blame there, millennial wokescolds or ADHD-riddled Zoomers, or God-forbid literal children Gen Alphas in no short time.

Do any of you all know of more channels like the Lore Lodge? Just something where they talk about things in a straight forward and regular manner.

I'm not sure if we have a general term for the types of channels that just needlessly try to make it "extra spooky" (silent hill ost, ominous narration, etc.), but I just can't stand those. Just makes me roll my eyes every time.

Someone really needs to step this up and make an ARG where you send your viewers out on a goose chase across different websites and services like FTP servers. Maybe even Tor, like the ARG Death Grips did to promote their album "No Love Deep Web". It's such a robust and creative art form in the modern day and it's being killed by insipid cunts.

I heavily agree. Boards of Canada did the best ARG I have ever been involved with for their 2013 album Tomorrow's Harvest. It all started with a random post on reddit in a vinyl subreddit. Some random user had found a pure white sleeve with Boards of Canada written on it, and played the record to find it only contained about 12 seconds of fanfare and a woman reading some numbers. He found this record in some random podunk record shop in Texas or something. Then someone else found one in Sweden. But the numbers were different. Then in New York. And so on. And from there, it turned into an autistic hunt involving codes, websites that had been made in the 90's and maintained with nothing happening on them till 2012, [adult swim] shows suddenly cutting out in the middle of squidbillies to play some random 70's stock footage of deserts and military bases with codes on them, star charts, cipher experts, physicists and historians, yadda yadda. I skipped school for like 2 weeks just so I could stay up and help out with any new developments on twoism. All culminating in GPS coordinates and a date. In the middle of the desert, there was an old 70's camper van, some speakers, and a few laptops. This was the listening party and official announcement of Boards of Canada's new album. Taking part in that was still some of the most fun I have ever had and has set the standard for what an ARG actually is to me.
