The hands are shaded in various shots and their tone doesn't change noticeably, and the lighting is nowhere near flat enough to achieve the effect you're describing, nor would any flat lighting really bridge the gap between milk-coffee-brown and translucent-pink skin in a way that would be convincing in a moving scene like this with shadows constantly being cast around. Case in point it is a color video and nothing else in it is washed out at all, hell I didn't even pick the above image to demonstrate this but you can clearly see in it there are enough warm tones to easily distinguish the color of the chopped ginger from the garlic in the background and that's a pretty thin line even in natural light. If these are his wife's hands, she shares his skin tone or pretty close. I'm also unconvinced that these are "obviously" a woman's hands, or that they are obviously different from cog's which we can see in other videos are fat and oddly hairless. I think you just made a confident statement blithely and now feel the urge to defend it beyond reason.

This doesn't make sense. Those are female hands. The nails are gross, and she's probably fat, but those are female hands. Look at the woman's knuckles in comparison to the known photo of Cog's hand above.
I don't think I'm being defensive beyond reason but you're right that my statement was blithe. Because what OP was emphasizing, the clip of the hand on the pot lid, is clearly female. I also saw the fake nails screenshots, clearly a female hand. No further scrutiny was necessary before commenting.
