No article yet as this just happened, but could be big. One of the largest bridges in the world according to Wikipedia.

Deficiencies in the machinery were previously identified, and it isn't clear whether or not corrective action was taken.

I read earlier in thread (so take it with salt) that a later inspection showed no such things, from which I deduce that it was propably done in the third world with a hefty bribe.

Also Pajeets think cow dung can fix anything. No doubt they smeared it over the engine, and the machine spirit went mati.

Somebody will have to hang for this. At a minimum 7 people are dead from the pothole repair crew since only 1 of the 8 on that job was rescued alive. But that's just the start. Authorities are being mum on how many vehicles were on the span when it collapsed. Or how many people were IN those vehicles. Since right now they have no way of knowing.

Considering the outside air temperature at the time of the incident was 32 degrees Freedom Units, 0 degrees Commie and the water temperature not much better, the odds of anyone surviving in the river more then 15 minutes without survival gear is negligible.

And that does not even start for how much this is going to cost the State of Maryland and the USA itself. The bridge itself was built at over 700 Million 1970s Dollars. It is also a critical component of a major east coast port and the one closest to the US Great Lakes and Midwest that Ocean Going container vessels can enter.

The cost is absolutely astronomical. Just replacing it will be in the tens of billions. Then there is the opportunity costs. in lost business opportunity , transportation costs, lost tolls.

These Pajeets have caused hundreds of billions of dollars in damages. If you factor in everything from the amount of Gas trucks must now take to orbit Baltimore to reach the port, down to the local businesses that are now ruined after losing half their customers due to the journey to their store going from 15 minutes to a fucking hour, these Pajeets may have done almost 1 trillion dollars in damage.

Fereal, fereal, no cap

>Null is currently on hiatus for reasons unknown
>Null lived in Baltimore
>P Diddy is currently being investigated for being a trafficker/ pedo who might’ve killed Biggy and Tupac for not fucking him.

It all makes sense. You’ll think I’m crazy, but @Null had to get Biggy and Tupac out of Serbia because Diddy was coming for them as his house of cards collapses like a bridge hit by a 100,000 ton cargo ship. Somehow Diddy must of found out they were on the bridge and ordered the Mayor of Baltimore to have a ship hit the bridge in order to silence @Null, Hitler, Biggie Smalls, and Tupac.

This was clipped and documented this morning on Kiwifarms. The guy even did a breakdown of each time the power went out in still form etc. From page 8 and 16...
Here's a video pointing out the multiple losses of power, for the visually impaireded

From the live stream overnight. As the ship came into view, it had all its lights on..
View attachment 5850409

A moment later after this still all the lights on the ship go out...
View attachment 5850411

It drifts for aabout a minute, then the lights all suddenly come back on..

View attachment 5850412

There is a plume of smoke from the stacks as the engines fire back up to life..
View attachment 5850415

Only for the lights to go back out again just before impact.

I imagine it was 5 minutes of sheer terror trying to restore power and regain control of the out of control ship... but it was too late.

I hope i see this in the BrickImmortar video....

Video of the ship lights going on and off. The ship had no power. The pilot likely did all they could do...

Possibly. It could be an E-gen starting up to take over from an auxiliary that went down, but it is a rather large plume. They might've been trying to go full astern at the last minute, but just didn't have the distance to stop.

A ship with a controllable-pitch prop can quickly go astern by changing prop pitch. The only way to reverse one of these huge container ships with a direct-drive diesel and a fixed-pitch prop is to zero out the shaft RPM and then actually reverse the engine itself. That takes quite a bit of time.
What is the emergency stop on main engine that sized? Do they slam the intake closed? Could that be the smoke?

I mean come on. Do you see Diesel SUVs and trucks stalling?

And they say this is the cause with what evidence? None whatsoever.

The lower sulphur emissions standards that take effect (IIRC) take effect when within 200 nautical miles of the United States given that Marine Diesel was responsible for a staggering amount of air pollution. There is no issue with lower sulphur emission Diesel not working and engines globally were (IIRC) supposed to be up to code 4 years ago.
While I don't think ULSD was the cause of the power failure, it's certainly something to consider.

Ultra low sulfur diesel fuel has much lower engine lubricity and is hygroscopic, so it could have soaked up water.

There are a number of famous passenger airplane crashes which were caused by fuel contamination. ( Air Ontario, West Caribbean, etc).

But I think the most likely explanation for the power failure is poor maintenance.

If it was deemed an accident due to mechanical failure, nobody will hang. Even if that is directly attributable to poor maintenance, worst case some insurance company has to pay a few more million on top of whatever the bridge costs.

More than 6 people will have died in auto accidents since the bridge collapsed (based on the 20k/year US average) - most of those will have been due to outright carelessness or recklessness. Nobody will hang for those either.

With some sort of mechanical failure likely leading to the power failure, this seems like a synergy of different elements of diversity fusing into a gigantic shit storm.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘆 … It is so good to see the widespread positivity about the Global Maritime Forum All Aboard Alliance Diversity@Sea project, where very specific sailings offer real time data in aid of making seafaring more inclusive and tackling the main issues still encountered by women. To that we are very pleased to add a piece of wisdom from Aizza Kesavmoorthy, our representative at the 22-23 February gathering in Copenhagen when more than a dozen industry stakeholders distilled current material and helped plan the next stages. A former Deck Officer and currently handling DE&I and Crewing Projects from our Philippines office, amid breakout rooms, action lists, pinboards, sticky notes, marker pens and focussed camaraderie Aizza reported that the “workshop truly provided a broader perspective and understanding of where we should put in more efforts in this very significant and ambitious project.” Exactly so. Those involved are not simply putting more women on board than presently usual and then just jotting down a few reminders. They have all embarked on a detailed process that, in repeating cycle, will find, act on and review information as part of a continuum of adjusting all aspects of onboard life, so that one day all women seafarers are as content as they are unremarked, and the industry can genuinely claim gender parity. We are still a long way off, but we will get there if we follow the signs. The Synergy Marine Group is highly delighted, wholly enthusiastic and very proud in being one of the participants in this initiative. Now, in the second half of Women's History Month, there is a strong sense of making, as well as celebrating, history. #WeAreSynergy

Check out the sped up video posted earlier in the thread, you can see the headlights of all the vehicles traversing it. No headlights right before impact, very fortunate looking.

Yeah the bridge people shut it down when they heard the ship broadcast mayday. So all the cars apparently made it out, it was just the poor construction workers that were given too much of something Indians do not even know exist, a bath.

You guys know that like poorly maintained boats registered in random shit holes by dog shit companies who hire whoever is cheapest have failed long before dei shits existed right. Like companies and maintenance can fuck up without a woman or other minority being involved right?

Like I know it's a crazy concept but really, it's physically possible.

Apparently the captain was a Ukrainian but never underestimate a pajeets ability to fuck up. Especially a ship of over 20 of them.

No he's not, he had captained it in the past, he's listed as "available" so that means he's not captaining anything. (not that I even give a flying fuck about that ukraine shit anyway)

EDIT:

HOLY SHIT THEY HAVE REMOVED THAT GUY THOUGH, It's just the motor guy now.

I need to add that there is no diversion. There WAS an alternative to the Port of Baltimore. The Port of Virginia, located at the Bermuda Hundred and Hopewell where the James River entered the Chesapeak Bay.

However, the Port of Baltimore was just slightly more efficient, by giving a few hundred more miles of ocean going navigation into the US interior. Which means Hopewell is a shit hole and the Port of Virginia is only geared for local import/export. So all the major infrastructure is in Baltimore. Now conveniently behind a collapsed bridge and impassable. The Port of Virginia is in no position to pick up the slack either and Norfolk is owned lock stock and barrel by the United States Navy. Who also cannot share.
