And yeah yeah you're talking about the A variant of the SVU with selective fire, but still, the SVU is fucking disgusting looking and also the selective fire variant still runs off of 7.62x54mmR and it's still based on what was essentially a sniper rifle designed by a guy that up until that point only designed sporting rifles. It's fucking weird.

I love the 1860 from a historical standpoint but they suck to shoot and its easy to tell that it was prototype through and through. no hand guard so you burn your hand on the barrel (black powder burns hot as fuck. after 6-7 shots its too hot to hold safely), having to move your hand to let the follower pass etc. the originals are also kinda fragile. the mag tube is easily dented, firing pins often broke. the 1866 is 1000% a better gun.
