I will say this once and never post again. Jim has Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) or one of its variants (PAH, PPH, IPAH) with Hoshimotos disease (you have a higher chance of getting PH if you have a thyroid disease). PH is hard to diagnose and often gets confused with other diseases. The reason for this is because PH is the failure of the right side of your heart usually you see this in patients who are over the age of 50 very rarely does it hit someone under and especially male. But this is probably due to his smoking and eating habits. You have a higher chance of it being diagnose by a specialist your normal doctor tends to say its arthritis, diabetes, etc.

I say this as PH used to be a disease that was 1 in 20 million but now its is 1-2 in a million. If you want to read up on it search "Systemic Consequences of Pulmonary Hypertension and Right-Sided Heart Failure". I will not go into how bad it can get as I don't want to relive it. There is no cure if he is in the early stages (which I think he is as I don't think he requires cpap and if he is I hope he is on 1-2 litres any higher and its mid to late stages) he can live for 10-20 years if not then its 1=5 years.

Jim did the right thing not having kids. If you have kids knowing you will soon die or are planning to die like Ralph, you are a selfish piece of gooseshit. A child should not have to spend their formative years watching their father die slowly and painfully in a house that is literally a hospice, and they could also inherit that disease. That's stuff that will fuck a kid up for life and fill their childhood with trauma. Jim experienced that kind of thing with his mother, so he's been in the shoes of that child. One thing that's hard to come to terms with is how Jim is apparently the kind of guy who would selflessly care for his dying mom, didn't have kids so they wouldn't be fatherless, and has been doing everything he can to make sure Jade has no issues after he passes. but also gained so much enjoyment bullying retards (at least back in the day.) Jim has always been a bit of a moralfag in a good sense. You could tell when he was dealing with truly abhorrent people, pedos, zoosadists, people like John Money, Daddy O Five, that crazy dentist guy, the Finders cultists, basically anyone who hurts kids or animals that can't defend themselves, the gloves came off and he would get genuinely MATI. I think at some point he mentioned he wanted to become a teacher but never did. This is all congruent with his desire to be a family man.

You're correct, he was going to college to be a teacher, but he got very disgusted with the state of the educational system and nope'd out. He did say that on a stream or two but I can't recall the time frame of when he mentioned it.
