Trans people: STOP DEHUMANISING US OK?
Also trans people: we should look up to bacteria and fungus.

Science sperging:
Right, but for the same reason that a person can grow a limb in early development but can't regrow a limb, hormonal effects depend strongly on the developmental stage of the organism, which is why giving troons hormones now at later stages in life is nonsensical. For the same reason giving thalidomide to pregnant women cause problems but didn't cause problems with others, hormonal treatments after initial fetal development literally cannot have the intended effect of allowing an actual physical transition to the opposite sex.
Like, playing Devil's advocate, you could literally trigger DSDs almost equivalent to transition by substantially altering the hormonal environment in the womb. But it is specifically because a fetus is not a fully developed person yet. Not that there would be a reason to, but biologically that is the only point where such a change could take place.
No one is arguing that your genetics determine your sex in metaphysical sense, we are arguing the impossibility of changing your phenotypic sex after birth, (or really, after like the first trimester)
I'm not even going to get into why the sex determination system, or reproductive strategy, of single-celled organisms or sessile, bottom dwelling, filter feeding little sac animals can't compare to human reproductive strategies. That argument is like saying that because there are more total ants on the planet than humans, we should consider exoskeletons superior, even thought they would fail at our scale due to the square-cube law.
Edit: This also applies for arguments about sequential hermaphrodites like clown fish, since their sex determination strategy does involve biological structures that can be influenced by hormones later in life. Rather than being an argument for trans ideology, it's actually an argument against, since humans lack the anatomy to make these transitions we see in other animals possible.
