The amount people STILL enable this retard is baffling to me. There's no excuse for someone with Nick's lot in life and his life experience to still be a self-centered manchild, it's very dangerous when he has so many relying upon him, and Gosney tacitly approving it by letting his "friend" brag about his character flaws is disturbing.

Is there anyone in Nick's life who actually loves him and cares about him? Is he really just some guy these social tourists keep around because he has money, clout, and claims the same faith? Agreed. I think there is a general tendency for people to want to identify with other people--especially with those with some notoriety. It is the same tendency that built Nick's old audience that likes the (somewhat) traditional male role model he portrayed. Psychologists can go further, but it is something we all have experienced and makes people feel good to do.

I'm thinking of the recent incident where Nick appeared on camera semi-nude and licked that dude's face. That was a very deliberate act of exhibitionism. Nick knows that all of his critics would see this. Why did he do it? I'm thinking maybe he did it, because he knows it's going to piss people off. When you isolate yourselves like Nick has himself and his wife (living in the country, homeschooling children, having not many IRL friends, no social hobbies, and hating church, what else does Nick have to pass the time?

Most people who have isolated their family this way (at least that I know) were pathological controlling men who didn't let their wife or children have many social outlets unless they knew exactly what they were doing. I do not think this is Nick, but rather that his social insecurity has led him to create a small social sphere he MUST control and that is never critical of him.

If he had a community he was part of, he would have some accountability.

Caught up on the clips of Rekieta’s stream with Gosney. I know absolutely nothing of Gosney outside of these clips, but he’s extremely disappointing here. I think he’s trying to softly correct Balldo and then gets Gish galloped, because Rekieta knows he’s wrong but is in “fuck you dad God” mode. I’m guessing Gosney hasn’t seen anything from Rekieta for months and watched the last stream because he was preparing to hop on.

Rekieta understands nothing of what the Christians did to pagans, (but neither does PPP, so I’ll give it a slight pass). Christianity gets accused a lot of stealing from pagan cultures, but Christians really give too much ground on this too easily. Gosney is correct in the idea of “if it doesn’t interfere with worship, whatever” is the general rule. However, Christmas trees aren’t pagan, they’re a weird Middle-Ages tradition. The dates come from when Jesus died (~Mar 25), the idea prophets died the day they were conceived in early Christianity, and basic math (~Dec 25). Pagan Romans actually moved their feast day to Dec 25th to compete with Christianity.

Easter is also not pagan. The name is associated with paganism because Bede mentioned the pagan deity Eoster in his writings; but scholars think he was just confused, because nobody else mentions Eoster. Easter is a shortened version of “the Eosturmonath celebration.” However, that doesn’t matter because Easter is just Passover (or Passha). Nobody knows where Easter eggs come from, but they’re probably from people saving eggs for the end of Lent by hard boiling them, and then they got painted because that’s fun. Easter hares are from Germany, because hares come out in the spring.

Gosney, Balldo, and PPP are all morons on the topic of paganism in Christian religions, but I can’t fault them too hard on falling for atheists and baptists making shit up in the 19th and 20th century.

tl;dr: Gosney and PPP both should have pushed back on the Christian paganism thing, but PPP’s church is incorrect on Christian religions and Gosney has no balls and is also probably wrong.

The idea Jesus being a Pharisee is absolutely moronic. It is also definitely something Balldo made up on his own and thought “oh yeah, I’m so smart.”

Jesus rebukes all of them constantly. The Pharisees are hypocrites who follow the letter of the law (strain out a gnat), but violate the spirit of it (swallow a camel). Jesus clashes with them the most because, just like today’s Orthodox Jews, they follow it very well and simultaneously violate pretty much every aspect of it. He also tells the sadducees that they’re flawed in their understanding of heaven and resurrection, but he isn’t a Sadducee.

Honestly, just read the gospel. Not only does Jesus rebuke them, he is so well-versed in scripture and counterexamples that they were humiliated by him. So much so that, after the second temple period, they had many debates and had to redo their entire theology in response to Jesus/Christians. And instead of being humbled, they killed him. Jesus’s “father forgive them, they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34) was certainly not about the Pharisees, but instead about the Romans, who actually had no idea. Nick tries to blame the Romans for killing them, because he’s a Jew, and should rightly feel a little embarrassed.

The Pharisees are more like the vineyard tenants, probably the most straightforward parable Jesus told (Matthew 21:33-46). They kill the prophets and they kill the owner (God’s) son, because they wish to steal the inheritance for themselves instead of being humble. This is why modern Jews try to say that Israel itself is the suffering servant/Messiah. Nick should learn to be a little more humble.

Tl;dr: Nick is a retard on theology, big surprise.

Nick talking about religion makes my blood boil and if Gosney had an ounce of testosterone, he would have rebuked Balldo and reamed him out in a sermon that made PPP blush. Maybe he wants to keep the connection, values his friend, and thinks the soft approach is best, but some things need to be rebuked in the moment, especially when it comes to your friend’s eternal soul.

Unrelated to the whole religion rant, every time Rekieta gets close to the mic and growls trying to make his voice deep, I feel slimy as fuck and wish to gouge out my eardrums.

When you're conducting a search for a missing person who has Alzheimers, you have to take into account two things - where are they usually found basing on statistics, and what is important to them basing on their personal life. So you use logic and reason to search e.g. nearby bushes or hedges, but then you also need to put yourself in their position and search e.g. a nearby graveyard where their spouse is buried.
And so in considering Nick, as he suffers from enjoys wet brain, i try to take into account both logic and delusions. Nobody who is healthy and normal at his age, knows their liver numbers. But then again, it's Nick. He deludes himself that his GREAT liver numbers mean he is doing FANTASTIC.
