🥝 Community Kiwi Space Station 13 Server (2024 edition) - Space Station 13

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Player base will grow by itself the more stuff gets put in. It's better than trying to force growth with excessive shilling, you end up with complete no-fun having shitters.

Contracts system implemented in time for saturday or no balls
Dangerous gamble but you're on, snibb snibb

We get some different people every time, if i can add enough fun to increase retention then the population number will go up. Contracts system implemented in time for saturday or no balls

e: Also this works surprisingly well
yeah true I dont know any of the gobbledegook timezones and im not exactly keeping an alarm for when the server is "officially up" so someone posting when its up helps

be nice if it had a forum alert like movie night but some janny has to manually handle that shit or some sort of push notification but eh

also whats the compatible wiki for this server is there like a certain date I can just wayback machine to bays wiki or something?

Use this or this, they've been pretty reliable so far. Everything will move to the gitgud repo wiki eventuallyTM though.

Probably already know this but it's always online, the two times are just for scheduled play sessions that'll have decent population. There's nearly always a few people on at various times of the day outside of it, makes for comfy games even if it's just three people winging it

Updates (more to come)
  • mining contracts implemented, 3 currently spawn at roundstart. visit the mining contract console on the asteroid to see currently active contracts
    • as described prior, you can place the goods relating to the contract into a secure crate, and then use a cargo crate scannerto prep the shipment for delivery
      • you do not need to specifically use the 'mining secure crate', however several of those were provided in place of the old regular crates
    • deliver to cargo to fulfill contract (it may be wise to stay with it to make sure the idiots actually deliver)
  • cargo and QM have been kicked off the mining station so they cant try to do your job without getting their access changed first
  • miners now start on the mining outpost
    • considering making them use arrivals docks instead of getting to never leave cargo (this has not happened yet)
  • PDA notification messages relating to contracts implemented
    • cargo also gets pinged whenever you prep a contract for shipment
    • PDAs are horrible little niggers and need to be re-coded one day (you will likely not notice the difference they will just get easier to add features to)
  • your ID now starts in your PDA by default (a lot of things going forward are going to depend on your ID being in your PDA)
  • for the hydroponics contracts, I wanted to define separate plant types for all the plant products, since that would be easier than dealing with the insane dynamic BS this one idiot made. @xXEddie.DurellXx has been working on more vibrant plant product sprites, I wanted separate plant types to make the sprites easier to deal with and bypass the insane dynamic sprite BS. therefore, I have implemented the durell sprites, which will lead later to the hydroponics delivery contracts
    • this also appears to have fixed the ghost plant sprite bug the one guy reported with the plant bag

I wanted to stop and show off the nice new sprites durell made, I shall now continue working.

BTW look out for any weird plant bugs, they seem to work okay but its hard to tell with these things, the oldcode was pretty jank and not all of it has been replaced yet since I don't have replacement growth stage or seedpack sprites.

heres the new apple color thoughts
Looks like a tomato to be honest. Needs a slightly deeper shade of red.

When it comes to sprites you only care about imitating the features that define the object.

Here's the server's color palette that's used for the sake of consistency. It helped me when I started spriting.
