Two things about this sentence jump out at me. One, it's passive. Both her estrangement from her family and Rocco are things that happened to her, not things that she was an active participant in. Second, it feels so, for lack of a better word, immediate. Structuring the sentence like that, with to be not in the past tense, is what a normal human being might say if their mom died of cancer last year. Not a half decade old estrangement. My personal theory is she's just self-aware enough to subconsciously know she fucked up big time, so she's unable to move on. I've known enough people who have cut off relatives who beat them or are addicts to know that if someone is dead to you, you don't talk about them in the present tense like that.

She just disapproved of how her brother’s mental illness was handled and seemed incredibly disappointed that they never found one victim to his intrusive thoughts. Not one.


So yeah. I think she regrets it and I hope she realizes that the rest of the sane world wouldn’t judge her a bit if she made up with her dad. It would only be the “transfolx” who would be disappointed in her.

The hate for her family, and attempting to destroy it, is the vilest aspect of Mallory. She needed them to be cast as monsters once she hopped into bed with Joe and embraced whatever you want to call her woke LGBTBBQ lifestyle via Joe.

She was gutted that all the investigations she spurred to be undertaken against her brother and father turned up absolutely nothing. Her resorting to pinning a tweet by an absolute absurd schizocow who has been double raped, in front of witnesses, by every man she’s ever met, just to have some vile accusation to publicly throw at her dad demonstrates how low she had sunk.

The pinned tweet showed her desperation to make her dad a “evil cis Christian” abuser regardless of actual facts or reality. I’m sort of shocked Joe didn’t coax her into accusing her dad of molesting her. Maybe some weird sense of ethics only allows Mal to believe and propagate lies from others, not spew her own.

Joe really set up a “me or them” situation for Mallory and her family, but made sure it wasn’t obvious to a socially naive dunce like Malory. He just led her down a preordained path he had carefully manicured to make it feel like she came to all these conclusions herself.

I think Mallory being raised in Christian household as a pastor’s daughter and her immersion in Victorian chick lit cemented a very old fashion sense of womanhood. While she certainly saw and knew an array of modern women I don’t think she could envision that for herself. People are weird like that. If she wasn’t going to be that traditional female then it must mean she should be a man.

I also think leaving a Christian environment meant she needed to replace it with another defined community with rigid set of beliefs and ethos, which the troon community is happy to provide in its own bizarre fashion. Abandoning Christianity, and deciding it was bad, must mean the opposite of it is ethical and good. I’m not claiming the weird clusterfuck of transgender progressive opinions is a religion, or the opposite of Christianity, but I think it seems or feels that way to Mallory.

Her rigid thinking led her to thinking she couldn’t just ignore her family or decide to sever her relationships with them, they have to be punished and destroyed. But “wrong think” really wasn’t enough of a reason, she really wanted them to be pedophiles and evil pedophile enablers. Abusers! Proving the pedo accusations would really show how wrong and evil cis Christianity is and therefore prove her new LGBTQ lifestyle was good and right.

I think not being able to prove any actual wrong doing was a real psychological blow to Mal. He certainly leveraged a woke crowd to rally round Mal and take part in the drama to goad Mallory into being “strong and brave” to call out her horrible cis Christian family.
