At the time of his suicide, this thread had been up for 3 years. Why, on June 26, 2021, did byuu decide today’s the day, I’m going all in, I’m e-mailing Josh Moon as a last-ditch effort to get him to remove the thread, offering him my life savings, or I’m gonna kill myself, this is it, all or nothing. Something before that must have triggered him. What was it? I’m reading that this guy had periods where he’d be really active online and then periods where he’d disappear from social media. Before his last Twitter (which only contains his suicide note), was he at all active anywhere online? He said he’d deleted all his social media, but was he on discord or anywhere? What was happening, who was he in communication with, what online communities was he spending his time in? I’m thinking something must have happened.

I’m also curious about his emails with Josh. I notice they were responding back and forth pretty quickly, Josh was responding to him within a short time span for 3 of his emails, the second to last one being Josh asking byuu to send him his resume, see if they can work something out. byuu then responded with his resume and answers to other questions. I think people are confusing Josh being asleep when byuu sent his last email with the 3 exchanges that occurred 12-14 hours earlier, at what would have been mid-afternoon, Josh’s time.
EDIT: Reading the linked thread, tho, I’m sensing Josh may have expected byuu to wait a little longer than 12 hours, since he told him he’d have to consult his attorney.

I think you might have nailed it, he wasn't interesting enough to have more then a few page thread so nobody dug through his doxx. So all those alts and aliases he may have were likely long gone by the time he contacted Null.

If someone read this thread and cut ties with him, it was only because we'd compiled stuff they could have found anyway into one easy to read place, and the majority of angst that Byuu had was that his friends were getting harassed as a result of this thread - which they weren't, they either were facing scrutiny elsewhere for their own public actions or they were being harassed by their own communities for internal drama, whether that was programmer drama, zoophile (animal rapist) drama or run-of-the-mill trans-on-trans cancellation.

Consider not just the 6 hour time difference between eastern Europe and Japan, but also the timezone difference between the US and eastern Europe, another 7 hours, and also the fact that this was going down on a Saturday. Josh might not have been able to get a hold of his attorney for another 48 hours until Monday rolled around in the US.

Though, even if Josh had said as much, I doubt it would have mattered. As others here have noticed. Byuu was suffering from an acute episode of mental illness in that moment. Even if he had registered that what he'd proposed meant he'd have to wait at least two days because lawyers had become involved, he probably would have neckroped anyway. When suicide is actually on the table, logic tends to get ignored.

I received a FOIA about David Kirk Ginder from last year which would, if accurate, prove what is being said. It contains volumes of information and what appears to be Japanese autopsy reports.

He says the report is from last year, not that he received it last year or that it is "over a year" old. This is consistent with the cover letter, which is dated 16 October 2023. Metadata shows the PDF was created by WinstonQ2 on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 3:35:13 PM UTC; that's when the letter and attachments were assembled. We don't know when Benbattouche/Branwen received it, though it probably wasn't much later. Nor do we know how or when it got to Null. But unless the FOIA cover letter and metadata are forged, Null could not have had it for over a year.
