Fair enough, I did the same with Star Wars after The Last Jedi. Just saying that if you are willing to do it and find likeminded people, you can stick to playing whatever edition you lot enjoy and get models second hand or from printing purposes (or my biggest suggestion, get into a new game, even if for modelling purposes).

not against people doing that i just prefer when these things happen to make the company a lolcow and not a hobby for myself to a degree.

You can say all you want about the quality, but people still seemed to get excited in mass about new Star Wars projects and the merch still sold in mass. There was a ton of phantom goodwill after Disney bought it and a ton of people were suckered by the Force Awakens into things were going to be alright. The license still printed money at that time.
