Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

The visuals are decent, but otherwise it seems like every other kids film out there. I'm unironically more interested in the next live-action film.
I didn't like the Marvel style 'humor' in the trailer (I was surprised that Bumblebee didn't say 'well, that just happened!'). Looks like the Quintessons are the main bad guys and Megs and Optimus lead the revolution to overthrow them (similar to Transformers origins in the G1 toon). It's interesting that Megatron already has a Decepticon insignia, also like that his helmet's black like the old Marvel comics.

I'll wait until more footage comes out, but I doubt it have anything even close to this scene in the 86 movie.

The trailer just reminded me of how Kung Fu Panda was advertised, only for the movie to turn out to be great. I'm hoping it's a similar case here.

I'm very nostalgic for the first three Bayformers. Megan Fox in the first two was so damn hot
God remember how everyone hated bay after the...second (some would say the original) but as the saying goes, you never know what you have until it's gone. I never thought I'd hear anyone say their nostalgic for the bayformers even if it's just the first three.

Goodbye Primal Screen. We knew ye well.
Though I wonder why....it seems a little sudden.

I used to be one of those plebs who had a hatred against the series, but maybe it's because I never gave the sequels a chance. I ended up watching the movies during the lockdowns in 2020/21, and I liked the first three for being fun, brainless popcorn entertainment. The fourth one still sucked while the fifth one had good ideas, but still felt unfinished.

The CG is still incredible even if the scripts aren't. That's something that's been consistent with all these movies.

While Bumblebee had issues, it was a step in the right direction for the live action franchise, as Travis Knight actually liked G1! But then they dropped the ball with Rise of the Beasts which was Diet-Bay, and had issue of being three movies in one.

The fifth one had terrible CG as, again, it was left unfinished. It was just different movies stitched onto one and it was due to Paramount wanting demands for Michael Bay and company for a so-called Hasbro cinematic universe, something in which never came to be

DYNAMITE TO LAUNCH 'POWERPUFF GIRLS' COMIC IN JULY 2024
Dynamite has announced the details of its new Powerpuff Girls series, which will launch in July during Comic-Con International in San Diego. The creative team will be Birds of Prey writer Kelly Thompson, who won a 2021 Eisner Award for Black Widow, and Zodiac Starforce artist Paulina Ganucheau, whose “Adventures of Young Diana” features from Wonder Woman are being collected into a graphic novel (see "DC YA Graphic Novels"). Like the show, the comic will be pitched at all ages, with straightforward fun for young readers and a witty, self-aware tone that adults will appreciate. Each issue will be self-contained, and the first one will be released in July 2024 with a main cover by Ganucheau and variants by Leonardo Romero, Karen S. Darboe, and Nicoletta Baldari.

The Powerpuff Girls animated series launched in 1998 on Cartoon Network, and both creators have fond memories of it. “I have to say, I am a very big fan of The Powerpuff Girls," Thompson said in a statement accompanying the announcement. "So much so that when I was young — just out of art school — I even wrote a few short stories and began to storyboard them in hopes I could get a job on the show!”

“I grew up obsessed with them,” Ganucheau added. “Had my own PPG OC and everything. I was on a Powerpuff Girls oekaki board way back in the day where all we did was draw in that style.”

IDW previously had the license for Powerpuff Girls comics, which it published from 2013 to 2017 (see “IDW Signs Deal with Cartoon Network”). Dynamite acquired the license along with Thundercats, Jonny Quest, and others in a deal with Warner Bros. last year (see “Dynamite to Publish Comics Tied to Warner Bros. Animated Series”).

‘Golden Axe’ Animated Series Based On Video Game Ordered By Comedy Central; Matthew Rhys, Danny Pudi Among Voice Cast

Between this and the rumored Comix Zone film adaptation, this just looks like it will be made as an insult to Sega Genesis gamers like myself. Who asked for a Golden Axe animated series in the first place?

You film executives can’t be happy that you caught flashes in the pan with your Sonic movies and Knuckles spin off TV series?

I'm hoping this is the case too. Being a transformers fan post the Alligned continuity has been hell. The animated shows no longer appeal to older audiences, and the movies take too much from the Bayformers outside of Bumblebee. The comics have been the most consistent form of storytelling that tries stuff while being extremely good.

Otherwise, I'm good sticking with The Wild Robot that comes out the same day.
