My god, he's being so over-the-top clownish, talkative and "engaged" (read: describing literally everything on the screen that everyone with eyes can already see) while playing Fallout 4 right now, only because he's trying to not come off as the asshole he actually is to pander to the "algorithm viewers".

I mean, it's basically the behavior you kinda want to see from your typical streamer, but the fact that you know he's hardcore faking it, makes it unwatchable, even as background noise. I'm out.

In all seriousness, it's kinda funny he's trying to put on his FakeSydePhil persona, even after admitting his "new viewers" just watched for a few minutes and clearly aren't interested in the video. And even if they were and they decided to watch it live, they wouldn't have made it through the prestream.

I think this might be another instance of Phil being too late to jump on something, but to his credit, it was only weeks this time instead of his usual delay of several years. Leading up to the Amazon show, playing Fallout might be a good way to get some nostalgia watchers who are excited for the series, but don't really have the time to play themselves so want to watch something Fallout adjacent. It's why video game lore channels were doing stuff like "history of Fallout" or "all the Fallout vaults explained" style videos. Although those work better because they at least interest new viewers *after* the show who want to find out what the franchise is all about.

The games have also been on sale for awhile, and there's the hype about the next-gen update for Fallout 4. Thing is, if new players saw the show and are interested in the world and want to experience it themselves, they're probably going to pick up the game on sale (or even full price if the sales have ended because it's already cheap due to being 9 years old or whatever) and play it themselves. Or, players who are interested in the patch are presumably players who already own the game, so at most, they'll do what Phil experienced...spend a few minutes watching a video to see if the patch is worth reinstalling the game, then clicking away. Even if it was a more popular YouTuber, there's a good chance the exact same thing would have happened, a bunch of viewers watch for a few minutes, then click away because they got all the information they need.

Phil shot himself twice in the gouty foot, funnily enough, for similar reasons. He didn't start it early enough to get the nostalgia viewers before the show hit, but then he also started too early by implying he had the patch before it dropped. Even if fallout veterans just wanted to see the game played with the new update, Phil still doesn't appeal to them because they of all people would know right away Phil wasn't actually playing with the patch as he claimed and will just downvote the video and watch/wait for someone else.

It's also arguably an example of HypocriteSydePhil making an appearance because, as much as he rants about how BS and unfair it is for people to get early access/review copies, he was trying to trick people he was one of those shills and had an early copy of the patch. I think. If this was Phil from 3 or 4 years ago, I'd assume it was done on purpose. I mean, we know Phil has a history of clickbait and abusing YouTube's system, but Phil is so ginbrained now I genuinely have no idea if he accidentally used his pigluck to stumble into a situation where the algorithum worked for him or if he put the bare minimum of effort into marketing for once. He seemed kinda surprised and I don't remember a "Fallout 4 is going to save the stream" attitude from him, and it was originally slotted into the night slot which suggests it was more or less a filler game. But ranting about people with early copies suggests it was on his mind...but it's also a really common rant from Phil so it might just be him holding a grudge. I dunno, either way, I got a few chuckles out of how quickly reality caught up to him, and I look forward to the ineveitable rants in the next couple of days about how much support has dropped and passive aggressively blaming the viewers.

Im watching the anleet catch up stream and he showed us a video from a podcast channel that analyzing other podcasts or some shit, and they have an episode on dsp.

I did not see this posted before, maybe i just missed it? Anyway, here is the video, they called "Who Are These Podcasts?. Well, lets just say dsp would not be happy know this.

2 minutes in to the new era of DSPGaming back on the algorithm has been interrupted by Phil angrily fiddling with his Laptop and defiantly telling it he won't be doing a windows update.

5 minutes in and he's already talking about trolls and insane conspiracy theorists that can't take him being successful.

All anyone did was state something that is, as he says, factually correct.

The reason he got many views on part 1 because he clickbaited it, even lied about it. It looks like he was playing the patched version, but it was the day before. People wanted to see new version and when they saw its still the old, disliked and did not stick around for part2.

He clickbaited the title for part 1, then proceeded to not only do an extra-long copecast and "Chill for 15 minutes before diving in" to do a few lil' begments here and there, he stalled the FUCK out of character creation, named his character "Spoon", as in, "I wanna mail you a spoon!" but he took a literal hour, a god damn HOUR, before he was out of the BATHROOM he started in. He did Museum Mode, which he usually only does to stall horror games.

He also said that Hard difficulty or Survival mode "Add nothing to the game." So like, who the fuck is gonna watch The Guy playing Fallout 4 for 300 hours on Normal? He's using his Resident Evil style of gameplay where he analyzes every last god damn texture on the map in minute detail, while simultaneously having no fucking insight to offer other than "This looks great." "Ew, this looks bad! Ack ack!" "Oh my god, disgusting gore all over the floor and walls!"

Motherfucker, a professional 3D artist could do this stream, marketed at budding 3D artists, and it'd STILL be boring, but at least it would have educational value. What the fuck makes you qualified to talk about game textures? How is he marketing the "Joe Average Gamer" schtick when he's Sluggo McStallPants? Who the HELL cares about textures in games? How does he think he can keep his dented adult daycare running when he's this unbearable to watch?

Considering he genuinely thinks we are all unemployed basement dwellers and we all detract to make our livings off him when even the most popular detractors probably aren't making enough to live off this shit, he would be. I watch an occasional DSP video while taking the train, and write a comment now and then, when there’s some downtime at work.

I reckon this is the level of engagement of most detractors.

The clippers arguably spend more time, but first of all: They make a pretty penny, and secondly: Video editing and YouTube is a hobby for some. Not unlike wood carving or whatever.

Yet to Phil, somehow laughing at him as a hobby, or taking a few minutes a day to comment on him, means that you dont have a life.

I think part of this retarded reasoning,
besides Narc self preservation, is the fact that Phil has no idea how other people live, and don’t have any friends.

How does he not have some A/C in his house then? He always whines about it being too hot and not putting the A/C unit in, but even if it's a Dollar Value central air (forced air in this case), that's still something.

Likely at the time the easiest thing he could find that was in a gated community. Security, the feeling of having 'made it' in such a rather otherwise probably nice area, as far from the East Coast as you can get in terms of state borders, and all the space he could ever want.

Remember that he's only even married purely as a coping mechanism because Leana ditched him and he couldn't allow the impression he totally didn't have a GF/wife and that meant he was a LOSER.

The lore I've heard is that said community is close to the airport, so it was literally the first thing he saw while in town. I don't care enough to check, but it would fit DSP. But yeah, move to one of the highest sales tax states in the country.

Likely was the first video that had Fallout 4 + 60 + being a longer length when it was uploaded early Thursday. He got his usual 1st video of something bump too, and his usual 2nd video of something drop off once people see how awful he is.

For context, and for most Youtube creators that actually don't suck, it's typical to at least retain 40-50% of your viewers into the 2nd video, and hold that number steady going forward. It's also typical for people with 200k subscribers to easily pass 10000 views too.

Quite a few houses and apartments in that area weren't built with ac and heat in mind because of the pretty mild temps a while ago. I lived in 3 different places when I was stationed on Lewis, none had it,none of my friends did either. So it wouldn't be surprising if his middle unit has fuck all.

That argument is already retarded because it's a classic case of "rules for thee but not for me". When he could get early copies (the few times that he did) and when he could go to midnight releases because he didn't have a job as he was one of the first to be blessed with making money out of uploading videos, it wasn't unfair. Phil still doesn't realize that most people simply can't just afford every new major release and that's why games have transitioned from 60 dollar 8 hour campaigns with some hit or miss multiplayer to being either F2P with battle passes or 70 dollar +100 hour campaigns with updates over the years.
So even if technically it was possible to get every game day 1 back in the day, the people who could didn't have the time to just play them and upload them to YouTube the minute they could. It's like saying that you technically can be a good streamer, you just need to throw 2k dollars on equipment and have six hours every day to compete with the big names. Technically you can, but "not be poor" isn't really an option the same way it wasn't when Phil was getting games on midnight releases. The minute other Youtubers were able to do it, he was left behind quick. He was never on top or the Pewdiepie of old YouTube, he was prominent, sure, but never on top. The 4th place of YouTube gaming, if you will.

Technically, he could get review copies since he has the numbers, problem is that publishers would ask for a review that isn't an hour of drunk rambling. They would also ask that he plays the game off stream to make a review, and we know how much Phil would be down for that. Contrary to popular belief, there's plenty of famous "shills" that are very critical of the games they review, they just happen to say their criticisms in an educated and respectful way instead of going "UUUHHH WHO MADE THIS?? WOW WHAT A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT IDIOT THEY SHOULD FIRE THE COCKSUCKER WHO DESIGNED THIS PART IM JUST BEING HONEST SOUND GOOD"

I reckon this is the level of engagement of most detractors.

The way I see it, the levels of detracting go like this.
-PASSER BY-
1. "It's the guy". People who only know about Phil for beating off.
2. People who watch documentaries and roughly know of Phil's history, although often misinformed because the videos they watch get things wrong (TurkeyTom)
-MOUTHDROOLERS-
3. People who watch daily clips to laugh at Phil. Not much knowledge of the lore aside what they see on comments (most "detractors" go here IMO)
4. People who watch re-streamers and/or dedicated DSP shows (TBS/WPIG)
5. People who are enthusiasts of the lore
-MENTALLY ILL LOSERS-
6. People who post here or other DSP-centered discussion forums
7. People who make daily DSP videos (often clips)
-THEY WANT TO RUIN MY LIFE-
8. People who make DSP-centered content. From talking about Phil's clips and "adding" to them to making dedicated shows discussing Phil (TBS/WPIG)
9. A-logs/people running gay-ops on Phil or doxxing dents. Also people who make content around DSP orbiters like Derich

Of course I'm mostly going by the time people usually spend on Phil content every day, but for most it's less than an hour every day just laughing at him. The irony is that Phil expects his audience to stick around for +3 hours every day (if we go by his retarded logic that there's a different audience for every stream). But in that case you're not a loser for spending so much time of your day on Phil.

Aside from the main one which has been banned for some time now theres a bunch of others that have sprouted up over the years some new some very old. Some coded and extremely hard to spot for someone not well versed in DSPLore. But apparently someone over at Reddit HQ has the time to scour the website for weeks learning indepth lore and references so they can purge every last vestige of DSP discussion.

Its a sight to behold. I haven't seen Reddit as dedicated and working so hard....well for anything else. Be it stopping actual crimes or even doing things that would actually make them money.
