I would say that it's more that, like a lot of soyboys and troons, he was/is lacking strong male role models in his life. There was his dad, who was fucking ancient and, while a little bit better than his mother, basically just his enabler. He was never particularly close to either of his brothers but the one he was 'closest' to was likewise a beta soyboy (again, lacking strong male role models in his own life).
