The Detractor - Official DSP Video Game

I thought 'Super Gunt 64' was a funny jab, and a silly work of art. This is so far beyond that. I can't help but be a little impressed.
Some part of me wants to play it just for the novelty, even though I don't much enjoy fighting games and don't know much of anything about DSP (except the stuff everyone knows: WWE champions; masturbating on stream; snorting; bad at gaming).
I'm really interested in how Phil will react to this lol.

Is this even legal knowing phill He'll sue them for money
Is he a public figure? I really don't think so. I have a feeling this game won't last long and he's already googling a lawyer.

Depends how many get sold. I bet it gets pulled first.
If this game lasts half the month I'd be surprised.
Odds are it will get pulled by steam.

Money is held by steam for like the first month before they give payouts too, so Devs likely wont' see any of the money.
Worst case scenario it will go to Phil.

What are the odds of this little studio going bankrupt in the near future? I want to see Phil outlive another company for shits and giggles. :story:
He'll sue for using his likeliness most definitely. But Phil is such a dumbfuck that he'll somehow fail at that as well.

Phil isn't going to sue, retards.

This game won't even sell more than a few thousand copies at the VERY most unless something insane happens and it goes viral. No lawyer is going to waste time with a lengthy process like a lolsuit over this for literal pennies at the end. Phil isn't about to dole out any real cash for a retainer either.

The most that happens is it gets taken down from Steam for bullying or whatever and gets reuploaded with a pig's face instead or something.

All it takes is a legal letter and steam will pull it.
Won't even have to go to court.

Wow no way I didn't even think of-

Like I said. He isn't going to sue and go to court over this.

Phil couldn’t even bring to justice the ones who broke into his bank account to commit (felony?) identity fraud. That alone makes me think he’s allergic to making good decisions.

But then again, the bank leaks were all fake and nobody broke into his bank account (per his words). So who knows, maybe he’ll try and go for a win this time.

DSP is a boring fuck of a lolcow and anyone who disagrees is a faggot but I'll definitely be playing this once I find a cracked version of the game so I don't have to give anyone involved money
It’s impressive how hard he’s working to avoid getting a real job

Doods should make a lolcow fighting game, That would be awesome

He wouldn't have any problem finding one who'd work on contingency if this actually made much money. There wouldn't be much work involved for the lawyer to get paid.

Fair Use goes right out the window when you try to profit.
I don't think that's quite true - newspapers and satellite TV (cable TV in the US) get paid and enjoy fair use protection.

Can someone versed in the intricacies of the DMCA weigh in on this issue?

I suck at this game, I keep screwing up in blocking the inside punches and I got no one to blame but myself.

But I finally did get to the act 1 Boss of Phil and watched the cutscene of him being confused by an MGS Ration. It took me a good minute to remember DSP’s legendary Let’s Play of MGS1 and I just had a long chuckle. I mean that’s happened what at least a decade ago? It’s like having an old friend tell you an inside joke that happened years and years ago.

10/10 easily worth $5 Greenbacks.

This surprisingly looks actually very well made.
Not sure how it plays tho.
