Basically. I'll eat my words if Daniel spends real, hard time in prison instead of just skating from jail to jail before being cut loose and sent on his way with a bag of happy pills.

I'm of a similar mindset. Normally when I hear Daniel has gotten arrested or is in legal trouble I just assume he'll be gone for a week and then be thrown back out to continue harassing society. In this case though since the feds are involved I'm a bit more unsure how it will turn out since the feds at the very least secure actual convictions. That being said, with the way people like Daniel are handled I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him the least amount of time as possible with the least amount of effort needed. It seems like when it comes to public nuisances like Daniel the court knows they will inevitably end up having to deal with them eventually, but they'd rather save the time and money while they can before Daniel does something that actually requires a response.

This is off-topic, but the PS2 cutscenes for Deus Ex felt somewhat superior to the in-game cutscenes of the PC version. The intro and Illuminati ending felt like an actual bad ending, considering that it's just the intro, except with JC and Morgan.

They do, they're just rarely made, and even more rarely successful, and even when "successful," are often not even a better outcome. They're often a Hail Mary play in capital cases that get you life in a loony bin instead of the chair or the needle, or a get out of jail free card for trivial nuisance crimes that were clearly just the result of being nuts.

You're rarely if ever going to see the kind of Hinckley shit where you shoot the President and then later get let go. In fact, Hinckley himself is personally a big reason why the plea went out of public favor.
