Helldivers 2 - Hell is more diverse than ever as PlayStation's demographics continue to grow and change.

And the deadline for this change is around June 1st... pride month.

Do you think they're planning on putting some fag shit for pride month and Sony wants their ban hammers locked and loaded for when the next upset happens?
Team Killing is a part of the game. Unless that player is wearing a pride cape. Then its a hate crime.

It'd be insanely stupid of Arrowhead to put in color customization in a game that is infamous for its friendly fire. That's encouraging "muh poor marginalized quhweer" players to paint a giant target on their own backs.

If pride month rolls around and this becomes a reality, I am going to host-only and grief the fuck out of some rainbowcapes. No gamer words over chat, no typing slurs. Just some accidental stray buckshot and forgetting to reinforce while they watch me do the mission. Assuming the game hasn't imploded and been abandoned by then.

I think it has a good chance of getting down to 45% or 40% at this rate.
I seriously doubt this whole thing will affect anything. Consumers will move on from this issue a week from now like they always do. How many times have we seen consumers get pissed at a company for doing something shitty, only to have that situation become old news in a week or so.

Maybe the CEO will show the backlash to Sony. Even then there's only a slim chance that it'll work. The sad reality is that these changes are here to stay.

When requesting refunds from Steam, I strongly recommend making a mild legal argument. You are not mad at Sony or the Devs personally. You are not making a principled political stand.

You are requesting a refund due to a failure to comply with contractual requirements. Contractual requirements that were not included in the point of sale by Steam. Upon being presented with a PROPOSED contract by the Sony Corporation, you have chosen to exercise your legal right to reject the proposed contract and withhold consideration. As there is no longer a valid contract between you and the developer, the consideration that you have already provided (money) must now be returned as it is being held in the absence of a valid contract.

Its probably not going to work, but it will definitely focus minds. Remember, these corporations are not scared of petitions. But they are scared of lawsuits. You don't even have to threaten a lawsuit. Telling Valve and by extension Sony that you rejected the contract change and are refusing to offer consideration says it already.

I'm still going to hop on and play with friends up until Sony prevents me. Then I'll roll the dice with a refund request to Valve (muh game no longer works, Gabe!) and walk away.

I tried this with 115 hours of playtime. I received a very blunt rejection that >2 = denied. This is my fault for thinking that something nice could possibly exist within the realm that is modern gaming.

The way corpos treat personal data is a prisoner's dilemma that needs to be broken by strict privacy laws and bans on the sale of information.
The issue is it's more than just companies mistreating data. You have fucking corpo bootlickers who will defend companies doing this shit, boomers and zoomers who seemingly have zero fucking filter on what they share with the entire world, and a government that unironically believes in the manta of "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear". It's not just a culture of apathy to the notion of privacy, but outright hostility.

Without seeing what you told them, my only suggestion is that you try again while outlining clearly that you did not know a PSN account was required at the time as you were able to play the game without a PSN account at the time. The idea that playing for over 2 hours means you are completely out of a refund is wrong. Playtime of over 2 hours just means you can't get an automatic refund and it goes for manual review. I've refunded RDR2 after 2 hours of "playtime" because I told them (in a much nicer way) that the Cockstar Launcher is a fucking shit stain that makes it a pain in the ass. You need to make it very clear what your issue is while being firm but not angered. There's also the chance you just got someone who was having a bad day. Trust me, Valve is not going to get raked over the coals in Austalian for a second time by denying all refunds over 2 hours of tracked playtime considering how nebulous that is. Again, 2 hours is only for automatic refunds.
