Sony hate thread

No, it's also Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, and Mario. For as scummy as a company as Nintendo is, they do at least have an audience, and a few exclusive franchises that they can always comfortably rely on to make them a lot of money.
A few exclusive franchises that are always at least average at worst.

Switch Sports sold over 15 million despite being generic, not a franchise and shit. Ring Fit is around ten million despite costing more due to the peripheral. And the guy you are responding to left of a number of smaller franchises/subfranchises that also sold well on Switch.

That misses the point though, everyone but Nintendo releases on PC as well as console because its a cheap sku to add since all games are first developed on PC. And it doesn't bode ill for console either anymore than it bodes ill for PC that nothing these days is PC exclusive and PC interfaces basically don't exist in AAA gaming anymore.

I dodged a bullet on this one cause I didn't want chink guard on my system.
People gonna need to start paying attention to what they purchase and load up.
EULAs and Games are now basically trying to rape the fuck out of you with buried ToS nasty shit. Can't just click I accept or BUY gotta look at the side info.
It's been like this for a while, I hope this will motivate people to be more mindful of what they purchase. Surely people will learn and not forget about this after two weeks, right?

Not to derail, but that's what I did, I have a RPi3B+ in a NesPi case running Retropie. It's happy with anything up to PS1 and can manage to work it's way through a few N64 games. How are the latest Raspberry Pi 4/5 models with newer "vintage" games? I'm looking to upgrade to one for the better USB-C power stability and of course future projects. The only other Rpi experience I have is trying (and failing) to set up a home security system for a friend using an old 2B and a bizarre Android offshoot.
My Rasberry Pi 5 plays up to GameCube games. I've seen videos of people getting it to run PS2:

However, I just use a minipc for PS2. For Rasberry Pi 4, it's good for Dreamcast and anything less intense than that. I usually start by checking out ArcadePunks for images, but at this point I actually make my own. The main advantage of the ones on ArcadePunks is all the bioses are there, so you don't have to hunt around for them. (Though if you prefer, they have some bios packs on Archive.org.)

For handheld, I use an Odroid Go Super:

I thought about using a RetroFlag Gameboy style case with a Pi Zero, but I think the Odroid Go Super is better (they have a newer model, but I haven't tried it.) Mine came with an EmuElec SD card, but I use a Batocera one because I'm more used to Batocera.

If you're tired of having to make accounts for all the goyslop games, paying 70 bucks for the priviledge, and STILL having pay to play bullshit in your games I have the answer for all your woes. On steam theres this innocuous little program called Retroarch. It requires no account other than your existing steam one, and it plays thousands and thousands of classic games all for free(actually free). No third party accounts, no pay to play mechanics, no niggers, no faggots, just classic, skill based games. Come home, white man. Quit begging for content from these faggot game companies that hate your fucking guts. Take the emulator pill and be free.
you don't need steam for Retroarch at all. Shit I use it on my Raspberry Pi.

1-2-Switch sold over 3 million despite being a terrible tech demo.

Do not even dignify terms of service and "it's so trivial" cucks with a response.

You can't appeal to triviality when you initiated the trivial bullshit, and a terms of service should not be allowed to override common fucking sense.

You should not have your access to a game you bought threatened for ANY reason after you have forked over your money.
Terms of Service people actually make me a bit MATI. It's somewhat rage inducing for someone to bootlick their dopamine provider so hard and exonerate them of all wrong.

Comparatively. I'll concede though that I argued my point poorly and that "insanely well" can be met by almost every remotely popular game.
Besides the retro library being huge that can last years, the double AA and indie market are holding the gaming industry in their backs. The amount of great games that have come out from the indie space is staggering.

If you bitch and complain about how gaming is dead and you only play AAA slop then NO WONDER you hate gaming and think it's dying. You play the same exact type of games each year idiot. (not talking about you @mindlessobserver I'm talking about in general).
I do think that AAA slop, while shit, does show the state of the industry. While I never played HD2 I was somewhat surprised and pleased to see a game from Sony of all places doing so well. If only they didn't try to remind everyone that it was a Sony game. It's a bit sad to know that AAA has fallen from grace so hard that it's synonymous with garbage now.

This was one of my biggest gripes with games that were developed for console but released on PC. They always had the shittiest control schemes for them. Even some of the really autistic simulation games are getting console ports like the ArmA franchise with Reforger which is a game I never expected to see but then again Operation Flashpoint had already made it on console years before with Dragon Rising.

The publisher would use that info to take appropriate action & take the thought criminal behind the shed &.... I mean, "quell the issue without making the "victim" go through manual steps".
Holy fuck what a dystopian nightmare.
I have medical conditions that cause sudden shifts in heart rate.
SNOY is going to ban other people because of my biometrics?!

Fucking hell.

Now post how much each of them made relative to their budget, it don't matter jack shit if a game sold 100 million units if the budget for it was 1 billion

Not that I don’t believe you, but which version of ES was this? All the ones I’ve seen have taken a “Bring Your Own Yuzu” approach where they don’t come bundled with Yuzu anymore but will still work fine with your own manually-installed copy.
Thinking more about it, I'd say the guilty party was emudeck and not so much Emulation Station. Emudeck had a major update and it coincided with the whole Yuzu-Dolphin fiasco, Citra too now that I think about it, but since I never properly configured it, I haven't worried about it. They did notice that they probably jumped the gun with the autoupdate since I got a prompt for a hotfix to restore the Yuzu, but that didn't restore the Gamecube settings, so that's when I started fucking around with the config files and looking into configuration to figure it out. I need to extract the file from the Steamdeck, buf if anybody is having this problem, I can share the updates I did to restore it.

Holy shit. It takes less than 5 minutes to make a fucking sony account. Grow the fuck up. If there were less toxic faggot "pC mAsTeR rACe" people playing the game, maybe they wouldn't have bothered doing this in the first place? The moment something slightly inconveniences PC gamers, they chimp out and act like they're a member of some underground resistance movement or something.

It's cringe, and gay, stop it.

I'm not a sony fan, but It would be pretty funny if they refunded all the PC players, removed the game from PC, and ported the game to Xbox though.
"As of June 1st, 2024, all new and existing Kiwi Farms accounts will have to be tied to an adjacent ResetEra account. ResetEra requires all your personal and financial information, but you can totally trust them not to violate that trust."

This is the future you want for my children and I won't stand for it.

You do know that Nintendo games are insanely cheap to make due to the "bad graphics" taking fewer artists to make, right? The only thing saving you from an absolute reaming is that Nintendo doesn't disclose the production costs of any of their games.

I barely even follow modern AAA games anymore and only know stuff like Helldivers and Stellar Blade by name. And it’s like… am I out of touch with modern gaming? Am I in a bubble? Or is AAA just that fucking boring now? I’m not “growing out of games” because I still play old stuff and the occasional new indie/rom hack all the time, and I still at least keep up with Nintendo even if I don’t buy as many of their games as I used to.
Comparatively. I'll concede though that I argued my point poorly and that "insanely well" can be met by almost every remotely popular game.
Then I think what you meant is “games not made by the big three that are not on PC”. In which case, yeah. Consoles used to have unique architectures and gimmicks to justify exclusivity, and PC gaming used to be way more complicated. But now, if you’re not tied to one system for whatever reason, there’s really no reason to not throw your game on PC. That’s why I’m so confused about the decision to only have GTA6 on consoles.

I'm basically a doomsday cultist now, anticipating and praying for a new gaming crash that'll be far bigger than the one in 1983.
With infinite money printing megacorps propping it up i doubt something like that can happen , a large ammount of studios can all go bankrupt and it just means Microsoft, EA, Tencent, Rockstar, Soyny just gobble the wreckage and consolidate their monopolies harder, rather than a hard reset that breeds innovation like we all would want to.

No more infinite money.
Capital markets are now 5.5
Prime rate to consumers is 8%

The studios going under are already under the umbrella of these megas.
They're being folded up because SNOY and MS can't feed them anymore.

The older generation of gaymers are more scrupulous with what they spend money on, while the younger and foreign market has no idea how good we had it and will drop $50 a week on lootboxes to dress Bakachan in a skimpy outfit so when they bounce on demons her butt jiggles. It's fucking over for anyone wanting to pay a fixed amount of a product.

They're going to train these cattle to jump up and say "mcdonalds" to give Miss Konichiwa more cleavage.
The sports video gamers have always been the root cause of the cancer, They will literally drop 70$ for the same fucking game and pay a subscription fee as well as loot boxes to get their favorite nigger Bball player. When I was younger my brother begged me to help grind out games so that he can have enough premium currency to open more loot boxes.

I'm less pessimistic than Null about this.
Every MMORPG that has attempted a "freemium" model of loot boxes and cash shops has gone into "dead game" mode within 60 days of launch.
They have no long-term viability.
This model is why WoW hasn't been long buried, and it's why FFXIV a Realm Reborn has remained the top of the market for the past few years despite reaching age 10 this year.

But then a new Fifa, Goy Theft Auto or Carlos Duty relases and its all green arrows again.
