Not defending sony, but this is the same guy who made fun of people earlier and initially defended Sony, he only switched sides halfway through.

Wasn't Spitz and Purple both the fags that fucked around with the Helldivers server back in the day? So they likely weren't even employees, they were just some retard jannies the devs picked up for free, which explains why it was so easy to nuke them despite Swedish employment laws. Baskin needs to get nuked though, she's been causing problems far before the PSN shitshow started. The fact that she's the lead CM is an even worse look, as she knew about the announcement in advance and didn't prep her team to be coordinated in handling the obvious incoming fallout.

I'm going to bet on Sptiz being fired and Purple being demoted as the first step. Next step would be going through the remaining CMs for performance reviews, issuing warnings, and ordering training of some kind. While Baskin was incompetent, at best, the other two were practically malicious in their behaviour.

Also everybody loves to say how good nintendo is doing but they completely cannibalized their wildly successful portable market to prop up their dead consoles. Switch Sales are going to decline each generation from here on, I reckon. Starting with a big drop with the next gen switch.
Switch third party support died in the ass quick, and the PC market is already moving directly into the portable market, it's probably the most at risk to being completely subsumed by PC in the next 10 years as the same tech in the switch allows increasingly competitive portable PC decks.
Third-party support on Switch never died and has been considerably huge (for anything below triple A at least), but things have been inconsistent depending of the publisher and their executives in charge. And sometimes they can be quite silly, such as Masayoshi Yokoyama (the studio head of Ryu Ga Gotoku) not wanting to port the Yakuza titles on Switch because the system doesn't feel "underground" enough or Akihiro Hino (Level 5's CEO) burned bridges with Nintendo and pivoted to PS earlier in the gen because he wanted to direct mature erotic & violent games.
These people in position of power like Playstation and that's it, and I don't think there is anything Nintendo or their home audience in Japan can do to change their mind. They seem to prefer going out of business before putting their large-budget projects on the bing bing wahoo machine.

Hence why the Switch was partly Nintendo just accepting this reality and moving on. Merge software production lines to be able to support the hardware alone if necessary. Do business with third-parties whenever possible but don't rely on them for any system-selling momentum. The western third-parties are either down to a few tent pole franchises (such as EA Sports FC, Madden and Assassin's Creed) or sold themselves to Microsoft which don't really put out games anymore due of a lack of proper management in projects.

Meanwhile, many of the large third-party Japanese IPs of the past are either in decline or just gone: Metal Gear, Silent Hill, Final Fantasy, Tales of, etc.
On the other hand, Mario, Zelda, Smash Brothers, Xenoblade, Pikmin, etc. are nowadays as big or bigger than during their past iterations or the first golden age of Nintendo.

We should accept that Japanese third-party publishers (namely Square-Enix, Bamco, Capcom and Sega) can be run by amateur businessmen who let their biases from the 1990's and 2000's rule their business decisions of today.

yeah, that's what you see with the adoption rate etc., but there will always be a market for consoles because that's what some people want.
the switch is still a console. my point was there will always be people buying a console over a pc because they don't need or want more. I mean how would you sell a PC to the average cod-player? he doesn't care about price or 4k, and while it has crossplay (which isn't the norm) to play with some mates on PC it also means cheaters and people with mouse/keyboard. or someone who uses it as a netflix box to maybe buy the big moviegame every 2-3 years he saw the advertisement of? and that's before you go into any stereotypes of "PC=work/console=kids toy" you'd have to overcome etc.
There is the social aspect of consoles (esp. on a local level) that tend to be easily overlooked too, although that's mainly the Switch keeping up this role between the joycon gimmick and the sheer amount of local multiplayer titles.

These days I mainly care about Japanese/East-Asian games and indies amongst recent releases, neither requiring strong hardware (by today's standards) in the majority of cases.
Depending of how the Switch 2 turns out (no region-locking, backwards compatibility, third-party support such as more EDF games on it), I can see the possibility to sell my Steam Deck.

It really says a lot that I got excited for Switch at launch because the Joycons were red and blue.

I was just happy to have some fucking color FFS. Like I get Sony and Microsoft want to be all grown up and shit, but I play games to take me back to my childhood. My fucking McDonalds is a corporate obelisk, all of the buildings in my work area are corporate obelisks, I don't need my god damn entertainment to be corporate obelisks as well.

It's why I can't get too upset at people who spend a ton of money on RGB lighting and shit for their PC's. It's not "my" thing but I get that if you're paying top dollar you don't want it to just be a big hunk of black/white/grey.

Modern consoles since Xbone and PS4 are just shittier PCs anyways, there is absolutely 0 reason to get anti-consumer platforms that force you to pay for online and don't even have good exclusives like they used to before Xbone and PS4

I love old consoles because they all had something unique to offer but modern ones are mostly fucking horrible, the Switch doesn't have nearly as much charisma and charm as the Gamecube or Wii

Microshit and Sony also pay AMD to keep their superior Graphics technology exclusive to consoles and make shittier Radeon cards that are still absurdly priced, like $200 for an RX 6400 that is far slower and has less Vram while being more expensive than an RX 580

If Microsoft and Sony were pro consumer I am sure consoles wouldn't be in crisis, but good fucking riddance to them if they are just going to make shitty DEI games and gyp me out of money to play the game I already bought
The PS3 was the last real console, unfortunately the Cell processor fucked Sony hard and the homogenisation of the hardware market caused the sorry state we're in today.

I don't know if Sony and MS being better to consumers would have changed things. Niggercattle don't give a shit about their rights and lack of good games, good game lobbies, need for top tier graphics and shitty economy are probably more of a factor.

Heck, Nintendo can be argued to be worse than both consumer-wise yet its popularity seems to have increased.

It didn't cause anything. Consoles started using PC-derived hardware because you could no longer design custom chips that punched above their price class in gaming applications - they'd just barely managed it at enormous expense and complexity in the mid-2000s.

The homogenization of the hardware market only coincided with the sorry state of console gaming. Cost-cutting on hardware R&D and the predatory monetization models are both symptoms of the "line must always go up" business mentality. The idea that there's something inherently wrong with x86 hardware that made console gaming bad is just silly.

I can't think of a single PC gamer clamoring for Ghost of Tsushima. It's a pretty good game but it's also a last-gen title. It strikes me more as Sony trying to wring out more cash from the game because they've consistently been losing revenue everywhere else.

I picked up Horizon, GoW and Spiderman Remaster for like $20-$40 a pop during Steam sales and I will probably do the same for Tsushima. I won't be touching GoW:Blackrock or Spiderman 2... Miles Morales 2.. errr Mary Jane 2 though.... and I have zero interest in Uncharted or TLOU (not even going to pick up the first one).

It's not like their custom work was anything other than insane. PS2's architecture was pants on head stupid unnecessarily and it took years for anyone to figure out how to get decent performance out of it.

Yeah that will show 'em.

Maybe I haven't been exposed to the Sony Ecosystem enough to hate them that much (I had an N64). They used to make banging stereo systems and TVs and I would kill for a set of their barrel ear clips circa ~2003... and I know those days are long gone and their movies blow but playing shit that appeals to me and ignoring stuff that doesn't seems to be the only logical stance.

Also just cause I bought a few titles doesn't mean I think they are all that good. I do think Horizon is pretty over-rated, the gameplay was solid but the plot and world building were trash after the first hour, everyone talks like they are from LA, your character acts like she is disgusted with the boar she just bagged, like she would rather be eating vegan soy cakes.

And now gaymes are unoptimized to high hell thanks to all the pajeets and """"""women""""""" coding

@Edgy But Dull

I agree with most of what you're saying but I think you're drastically underestimating how old "late twenties" is at this point. That's nearly 30 years old. If someone was born from 1995 to 1998 they were absolutely old enough to remember the 6th generation at least. If not the 5th. I certainly do. My childhood was the original Xbox with Halo, Mechassault, KUF, and more. Alongside PC games like Half Life 2 and it's multiplayer mods, UT2004, Civ 4. All that jazz. And I'm not an anomaly in that regard. Most of my generation has very fond memories of those times. We know there were better times and better games. But some have chosen to subsume their critical thinking skills for the sake of group-think and in-group bias. Because being a consoomer is all they have. Ignorance isn't an excuse for corporate boot licking when people DO know better they just choose to tongue ass instead.
Exactly. This idea that people mindlessly defend Sony because people grew up with the PS4 dominating is bullshit. Millennials were born in the 80s and 90s, and distinctly remember what shit was like before the current bullshit. Zoomers were born in the mid to late 90s, 2000s, and first few years of the 2010s. They were the Wii generation, and remember either (vaguely) the period of the PS2, when the Gamecube and Xbox were barely putting up a fight but were still in the conversation, or, more likely, the Wii era, when Nintendo was ubiquitous with the Wii and DS, and the Xbox 360 was eating the PS3's lunch for years. The PS4 only launched in 2013, just as the earliest members of Gen Alpha would have been born. The PS4 was dominant, but that only lasted till the Switch was launched in 2017, which was only four years later. The PS4 wasn't dominant long enough to influence an entire generation to mindlessly protect Sony. Anyone in their 20s today would have been born in the early 2000s and late 90s (someone born in 2004 would be 20 now). They wouldn't have been old enough to have extensive memories of the PS2, except maybe, at best, remembering the tale end of that period, unless they are closer to 30, but they would have clearly remembered the Wii era as being their formative years, and those were years when Sony was patently getting its shit pushed in, hard.

Most Sony Ponies are old enough to remember the nadir of the PS3 and/or maybe the height of the PS2, while anyone younger than that is for more likely to be more familiar with the Switch, which has largely supplanted it, especially for generation Alpha. Contrary to what @Edgy But Dull said here:
Think about the age of most of the Snoys that are eager to defend Sony. They're all mid 20s, maybe late 20s at most? Their frame of reference is the tail end of the PS3 at best, which is when that console was in a tolerable state because they don't know how awful the console was at launch, how much it lagged behind the Xbox 360 on multi-plat releases, or how Sony got hacked. They don't know about the Xbox 360 releasing a banger every few weeks from 2006-2009, they just know the Xbox has been a joke ever since the XBONE came out. The Wii U came out right as they were like 8 yrs old, so they've sworn off Nintendo forever and now see it as a shitty console that can't even play their normiecore shit like CoD or NBA2k.

You remember those great games on the PC that you fell in love with? Warcraft? Age of Empires? Caesar? SimCity? Half-Life? Rollercoaster Tycoon? Command & Conquer? They never played any of that, they don't even know what MS-DOS is. These fucking retards are delusional partly because they legit do not know better.
These guys aren't defending Sony because they lack a frame of reference for anything else. They remember what came before. They have simply turned their brains off, and decided to hitch their cart to Sony, despite all the reasons not to.

Mfs actually gave NEETS a job, and thought that was going to go well!
No, worse. They gave trannies and their sympathizers jobs. That was the mistake. Blaming it on NEETs is an insult to actual NEETs.
