Yup it started the other night when he was talking about marrying his 6 y/o daughter to Muhammad. BTW is greeting your 6 year old child past bed time with "what do you want?" normal? 'Cos it sounds weird and needlessly harsh to me, almost hostile but English is not my first language.
It is harsh, and what is more, at odds with the image he portrayed of taking care of his children being exhausting, but fulfilling.
It's too late for him I would argue.
He has dug himself into the Lolcow Oubliette. The money he would make from starting over would be lower and harder earned than from getting payed from letting alogs bully him. That's when someone can't escape lolcowdom, when they have made it so the easiest money source is from being a lolcow rather than from being a semi functional human. Also to specify money is just the general thing the lolcow wants. Nicky wants attention he clearly is a narcissist and being a trust fund kid shows he doesn't even know enough about money to know he wants money.
I think he could claw back the most dedicated sycophants. He would cement himself as a lower-tier streamer by doing so, but he could continue on much as he did a year ago to a reduced audience. His own personality and the self-exposure would limit him, and I think that would drive him mad.
I don't think it's fear. Or atleast fear isn't the major drive. I am reminded of Jordie, Wings Of Redemption or Onlyusemeblade both of whom many a times could have been normal or somewhat normal streamers but the Alog paycheck was easy. And it isn't just laziness but comfort and complacency. It's easy and comforting to just do what you did yesterday especially when the alternative carries unknown risk.
Also add the element of addiction. He would need to put the bottle down long enough to think of something new, then think of how to do something new and then try and do that something new. The shakes kicking much faster than his remaining neurons. Also this is pure suspicion. But considering how fucked up the man is if he ever has a come to Jesus moment he needs to spend like a month or two fixing up his damaged household before figuring out how to be a streamer again.
The laziness is an excuse for fear. It is fear of hard work or fear of failure masked. It could also be fear of the unknown. I think Nick got much too accustomed to whatever he did making money, that he began to think he had the Midas touch.
If he actually tried to reconstruct himself, he could maybe get close to where he was again, but that is too much work.
I forget who it was, but one lawyer (maybe Kurt) complemented Nick about being knowledgeable about trust law and estate planning as well as AIDS and poppers.

There's plenty people who came from money who aren't suffering from dark triad personality flaws, and plenty people who came from poverty who are much worse than Nick. I think it's easier for people with money to see being poor being linked to personality flaws, and for poor people to see being wealthy being linked to personality flaws.
Regardless, those who were on the anti-Rekieta train 4-5 years back are probably feeling vindicated now (I know I am!). It really blew my mind that he took out the maximum possible PPP loans and then was superchatting $50-$100 a pop to make faggy jokes on people's streams at the same time. People even jumped down my throat when I'd raise that criticism back then (not here, but other communities). Imagine if he did that now with the way people look at him. He wastes $300k on "art" but the government needs to lend him money to pay himself for his law firm??? You can get away with so much when you're lawdaddy.
What is truly baffling is that Nick caught lightning in a bottle 3 times or more, and managed to squander every bit of it. He never deserved what he got (in the sense of there were better equipped and talented people who could have done what he did) but he got there first and struck gold.
He got an equal amount of deference and good will, and squandered that too. It is amazing how he used up the bounty in such idiotic ways.

He promised the first 5k LOCALS subs a special, unique gift that would be mailed to them. It has not been revealed what it is, but it had personalised and unique artwork and would cost a lot of money. It has been 16-17 months since he promised it. At one point he said it was close to completion.
I don’t watch his streams anymore so have been a bit out of the loop but if there was ever any doubt these past couple streams have confirmed his alcoholism to me.
Any estimates on how much he makes from local memberships?
There is no public number. Unless he has a LOCALS EXCLUSIVE stream and we counted the viewers and extrapolate from that.
His last LOCALS stream had 200 or so people in it, but the counter included people who were not subscribed. As a general rule of thumb, I triple that number, so he has 600 or fewer people actively subscribed. Translated to cash, that is 3k USD or LESS per month. I think it below 2k, personally. He has double-digits of people in his 24 hour chat at any given time, and struggles to break 100 during a stream.
