I had a family member who was an alcoholic for over two decades and for all her health problems, her liver held itself together until finally one day, completely out of the blue, it failed and she died within days. As much as people like to theory craft about Rekieta's demise, it'll likely just...happen. Same as Ralph. Alcoholics are goblins whose bodies aren't on a biological clock as much as they are perched on a cliff. If they step away, there's a good chance they can pull things back together.
