A classmate of mine failed the asvab. He had to get a tutor and he STILL couldn't pass it. This was the height of operation Iraqi freedom too (dox me !) and even then, the military didn't want him. Imagine being that fucking stupid.

One of my cousins wanted to join after I'd been in a few years. I passed him my recruiters contact info and he failed the ASVAB. He originally wanted to go in the same career field I was in which required a minimum score of G72. He got a G23. I was embarrassed that I even wasted the recruiters time.

No matter what we did at the start, Japan were already feeling cornered because we wouldn't play with their militaristic Imperial ambitions, so even if we had been arming both sides, and the Brits had made peace with Germany in 1939, we would have been dragged into it in '41 anyway, and it probably still would have spiraled with Japan's Alliance with Germany and them attacking us and the Brits.
WWII was inevitable, really it was just the continuation of WWI, but with a 20 year break while the European countries rebuilt the population that had been slaughtered. WWI and II together can be seen as one huge European Civil War that lasted for almost half a century, the Treaty of Versailles being what it was, and Japan's ambitions, made it inevitable.

It's possible to do so badly on the ASVAB that you don't qualify for enlistment in the military. It's also possible to qualify, but not for an occupational speciality that would satisfy his ego.

I logged into an old Craigslist account on a tablet to check: I think this means he's hit the "hide" button on 5 different postings.

I'm not exactly sure why he'd do this, as it seems to be a feature solely for the benefit of the account holder (it doesn't change what other people see, maybe he is stupid enough to think it does change what others see), but this appears to be what he's done. I'll warn you it's not a perfect UI match since I don't have that fucked up $1800 foldy phone with the bizarre aspect ratio. On mine the element is in the correct place compared with his screenshot when I hide a posting, but it has more detail and says "1 hidden" instead of just a trashcan with a 1.

Edit: something to consider, I do not know if expired or deleted ads remain hidden for the purposes of this count, but if he's hidden 5 postings that are still current, that's curious, and if he's hidden 5 postings which aren't current, that's somewhat less curious, I just don't ever hide postings so I'd be waiting a bit to get a definitive answer on this angle. Clock starts now I guess.
