Mega Rad Gun Thread

Murphy's Law comes for us all, shit sucks.
Don't disregard iron sights when you mount an optic, even backups are good.
I'm just wondering how much that guy's accuracy changes if a few bursts of standard fire vibrated that optic loose. His spread must be all over the place lmao

Speaking of sights, I saw this and felt a need to share

even the US Army, which has adopted electro-optical sights en masse has retained training for iron sights. you just aren't tested on them more than during qualifications.
Yep, which is why I got some MBUS Gen 3s for one of my AR builds..... USPS "lost them" fucking bastards

Speaking of builds, all of the memorial day sales are going live now except BLEMULA.

Got some LPKs, buffer kits and assorted stuff.... Sadly the CMT rail i wanted was sold out AND 60% off MSRP. 😭

Ah well, wait for the restock

You gents have helped me out in the past on my old account so I owe you guys something in return. I recently bought a 1000 round box of Winchester 115 grain 9mm FMJ and so far have had 4 to 5 failures to eject the spent cases, a couple of which have been stove pipes. For transparency two failures to eject have been from my Beretta 92 and two have been from my glock 19 with the possible fifth failure being out of my brother's Hellcat. I say possible because I can't say with complete certainty that the ammo was fully to blame for that one. I wasn't there when it happened.

While this isn't some huge ground breaking story, last year I asked about getting the exact same type of ammo from AAC, same weight same projectile type. And with that cheaper stuff we didn't have a single issue, even out of Walther p38.

I wanted to bring this up because I found some reviews of the Winchester stuff on Scheel's site complaining about similar issues and it made me think.

Take that information as you will but hopefully I've contributed something to help out

What generally causes this, not enough powder/poor burn so it can't overcome the recoil spring? Can confirm AAC 115 grain 9mm FMJ shoots really smooth in everything I've put it through, no misfeeds or failures of any kind yet.

I would guess skimping on the powder or maybe inconsistent loading? but I'm sure someone else here knows better and can illuminate us if we are incorrect. I noticed different stampings on the bottom of the cases of some rounds which I thought was a little odd.

Question about IR laser placement and bendyboi handguards. You see a lot of SOF running their lasers as far back on the handguard as possible to minimize POI shift from the rail flex when load is applied to the rail (bipods, barricaded shooting). The downside is increased splash back from the rail and potentially your thumb. But if one is only planning to shoot offhand, how big of a deal is flex? How much force can be induced with a normal shooting grip? Or is SIG such shit it can't even handle that?

That's actually pretty cool; except for the plethora of ammo pouches, and ticklehead production of the video. Otherwise it looks like something seen at a cosplay convention, or someone into steampunk cowboy action.

TIL it's not a good idea to refinish Arisakas with an original finish....

I can understand it happening back in the first two decades after the war (or so) when original Arisakas were common, but they deserve what they get if someone does it now.
:story:
Well shit, I have an original Arisaka, and I didn't know this... Granted I've done nothing with the rifle other than handle it.
