I will reiterate this because I think it got lost. I checked the Kandiyohi county police scanners, the Willmar police scanner, and the local state police scanner for the morning, and got nothing. It wasn't a 911 call, and it wasn't a traffic stop. I think this also rules out a wellness check - several wellness checks happened between 7:00 am and 11:00 am in Kandiyohi county, and none went to Nick's door.

It might have been a CPS call or some other state agency with arrest powers that brought him in - I am actually leaning in that direction. It could also have been the ATF or FBI or some federal garbage too, given how they show up at the doors of random gun owners and republicans.

It would have been well within Aaron Imholte's pettiness to call CPS on the Rekietas.

It will take a while but surely there are things that they will talk to the children about.
Young children that are already probably fucked up you have to go slow and gently with.
You can't "we gonna fucking waterboard the intel we need out of you cia black site style right now" on kids, so I think it will take time.

They probably also need to wait a while before even starting because the kids just watched a pretty disruptive event take place in their home when the cops came to take their parents away and the kids to somewhere else.

But yeah, my money is that there will be additional charges once they have first hand intel on what was going on inside the house.
I still expect Nick and his two women to walk with at most a 90 day suspended sentence. Because rich people do not go to jail on first offense unless someone dies. He will be back on stream soon as like nothing happened and will be aiming for the next uncrossable line to cross on live stream.

They can start without talking to the kids. Environmental neglect is ez to pin right off the bat, they only need minimal evidence of that and can be reinforced by drug and weapons charges esp if those drugs and weapons were already improperly stored. So CPS case is already open. They'll talk to the kids and get more like asking for food, they'll be evaluated by a doctor and put under even heavier scrutiny for being "homeschooled."

If your kids are going to public school and you can get teachers and faculty to vouch for you not being an entire fuckup all the time you can get off with six months of CPS supervision. But they likely have no outside witnesses. They sure as fuck won't trust family testimony alone. So they're about to be in for a rough ride if they can't scrounge up some qualified third parties to help them.
