It looks fun and I'm eager to try it. The webm of Kelvin making ice ramps specifically looked really cool to me. Not every design resonates with me but there's a handful I really like and that's enough to get my interest, and generally the art direction is what I want from a Valve game. Feels like just a slightly darker (not in a faggy tonal way, there's clearly humor in the character bios, I mean literally everything is shaded pretty dark) TF2, not really like DoTA or Artifact to me at all. Glad they pivoted away from the Sci-fi stuff because it was fucking ugly as all hell, this new build is super aesthetically pleasing to me. Can't wait to see it when it's further polished.

Someone on 4chan's /v/ board is leaking the entire Deadlock beta build. Null probably doesn't want links on his website but if you find any software that fell of a truck, the build's hash is: SHA256 860338355D3FCB3899796A0280C8A2D6C5B4AA34C569D9001C8A4CB076626691
Valve also apparently doesn't care (this may change if it begins to cost them money.)

Active reddit thread for leaks: https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeak...eadlock_gameplay_videos_has_just_been_leaked/

So many particle effects. So much shit on screen.

There's a they/them in there:

*In theory
In practice, the majority, do what the high ups want to do. See that rant of ex valve employer.
Same one from a while ago, or is there a new one?

My interest in the concept of this game has been a rollercoaster. I honestly like the character designs and the weird occult/mafia theme they have going, but when I saw just how much of a MOBA this is, my interest crashed into a rock again. I thought it was just borrowing aspects, but it looks like a full on MOBA. DOTA (and to an extension, OW) were some of the most miserable experiences I've ever had in gaming. These games are filled with miserable people getting angry at each other for an hour. I can only imagine this will be the same after looking at more footage.

I hope they add shoulder swap, I hate soydevs that don't add that, it should be a default after all those years. Also, wasn't there a game on steam called friday something way back when that was a tps moba? I can't find anywhere, it reminds me of that.

What’s the point of being allergic to the number “3” when you’re just recycling the same game concepts under different titles? Just fucking make Half-Life 3 already.
To be frank it looks more like a shitty Overwatch clone. It looks to me like Valve is trying to rip off from the success of other games but they release it half a decade after the trend has ended (like with Artifact).
I mean Valve hasn't done much to earn anyone's loyalty when it comes to TF2 in the past 7+ years
Loyalty is one thing but if you are a semi-popular youtuber and get invited to closed beta and are privy to confidential information it is a quick way to get blacklisted in the industry if you reveal such info to the public. At least other leakers weren't so stupid as to openly associate their real names with the leak.

At least we know now what was the game that Sweet Baby Inc worked on from VALVE that they included them as their clients on their webpage.

This location is the same location on the map as:

Plenty of people calling it shit itt, but I genuinely think the aesthetic has promise for characters and style. Picrel ^ is from an animated art pass of the same area on the map that was leaked (I'm thinking background splash art for Main Menu type deal based on how it pans down here and settles)
Obviously, if you think it looks ugly or don't like the aesthetic, that's fine, but it's obvious to me that the Test map in the first picture is... part of an alpha, like the rest of the game atm (not even announced). My assumption is bottom pic is their art team's current goal for final with details, aesthetic, proper clutter pass, and animation.
Always good to keep that in mind when making random shitpost anecdotes with nothing to them. The game will speak for itself when it actually gets an official announcement (never lol).

Orcs Must Die already tried this formula with Orcs Must Die Unchained. They shut the servers down 2 years after release because the game was running at a loss for consecutive months.

I don't see how this will be any different. At best it will be another mediocre indistinguishable hero shooter.

I miss when Valve made original and technologically advanced games, not this goyslop tripe.
On one hand, Valve actually releasing games, even if it's a risk, is a nice change of pace. The real issue is them ghosting their games, but people only care about that if they do WELL. I'd like to think maybe they'll learn their lesson, and should at least take some risks in releasing something they find fun.
I, for one, like Gigantic a lot, and Deadlock's mechanics harken to it, so I hope it ends up releasing and being fun.

I'd rather play Deadlocked.
Fucking love this game bros...

Don't get me wrong, I want to be excited for this, but I just can't. I'm still reeling from the oversaturated Overwatch clones. The excess of characters tells me everyone will most likely have cookie cutter or generic characterization and the gameplay sounds too needlessly complex to facilitate a drop in and play type of game. If this succeeds, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

The worst part is the leaks. Seeing gameplay, leak or not, of Valve's earlier games made me desperately want to play them. L4D made me obsessed with watching more gameplay. TF2's footage made me scour the Internet for every drop of content. But these leaks feel the same as when I watch daytime television. I see a bunch of colors and hear a bunch of noise and it's easy just to let my mind wander. So I guess I feel bored, I suppose.

I've still felt that feeling of excitement with games teased, dropped, or leaked within the past six months alone. So I at least can confidently say it's not me becoming jaded. Valve has really lost their touch from the DoTA brainrot. If this isn't free, I won't even try it. Even if it is free, I'd only play it to confirm my pessimistic predictions.

My close group of friends were interested until they saw the one leak of a dude explaining how the game works. They were like "Oh, it's a MOBA? Fuck that." And that's coming from someone who had over 1,000 hours in DOTA 2. I think most players are tired of these kind of games now at this point. My prediction is the game will be fun during the honeymoon period when people are just fucking around and nobody knows how to play, but once metas are established it's going to turn into a sweatfest.

Of all things, why this? Who asked for an Overwatch-Dota mashup? How many 6v6 sweat-fests do we need?
Also the archer character's design looks like dogshit. The black facial hair with the white wig is garish and laughable. This is all leaked photos though so I'm not gonna be too critical of it yet.

Hey, that's my line, you cocksucker!
Not my fault we both have taste.
